It was exactly because I had more experienced peers be so gentle with their explanations and thorough with their tips and how they do their things that I learned how to do just that for when I have friends and fellow artists ask me stuff too. Sort of an empathy exercise

I generally keep in mind that whenever someone seeks feedback they are doing it so they can learn some way to lock on to what they need to work on to make X or Y workflow easier AND prettier. I feel this is important to remember for when one gets asked "what do you think I should practice on?"

Oh to be able to inhale glitter and boyish charms and spit it out on command, I'm envious of you

Oh yeah, in general when someone says "Oh I just practiced it a lot" as a response to pretty much anything it can be kinda grating, but I've been blessed enough to not be given a "just practice" response at my questions and direction-seeking throughout my own career. It's important to have SOME goal

Fact remains that I hold an amount of respect for artists that save the practice session and don't mind showing it to others, it can be insanely helpful to be able to perceive certain things broken down into repetitive shapes or detailed studies, but me personally, I struggle to do aimless sketches

Sometimes the act of practicing something doesn't necessarily have to end with a finished picture - even if you don't get a png out of it, what matters is that you opened the canvas and kept doing SOMETHING on it, as much as that might not register as something valid just because it was not saved

It depends on how you perceive the process of "practicing", tbh - I'm somewhat envious of folks that can practice and still look at what they are breaking down or the exercise they are repeating with enough fondness to publicize it. I've a hard time not being upset at my own sketches, sob...
