If the Government can afford millions for land purchases, they can also afford repairs our hospitals need now. They must guarantee funding for urgent improvements at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital so the amazing staff can continue delivering the high-quality care our community deserve.

Dear Nick I am writing today to put forward the case for reinstating vital bus services in and around Winchester given Hampshire County Council’s declared intention to improve bus services and double passenger journeys. I was very glad to read that some £50 million pounds is being allocated to deliver the plans set out in your Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP). That being said, I note that last year, a very similar press release celebrated £13 million in funds being used to similarly improve services. In the past year, I have shared the disappointment of my constituents when vital bus services such as the 61 were cut and the 4, 7 and 16 rerouted, impacting communities such as Littleton, Harestock, Teg Down and Fulflood. Crucially: new funding does not preclude cuts to vital services, as we can see from previous years. I am writing today to urge you to use this funding and this opportunity to reconnect the villages that were left isolated by cutting the 61 as well as the rerouting of the 4, 7 and 16 routes. Removing vital bus services that are a lifeline to young people, students and the elderly or vulnerable was a deeply short-sighted cost-saving mistake. When we remove the means of travel we prevent people from socialising, attending their educational setting and receiving vital health treatment. I write on behalf of all of my constituents who have expressed their dismay and concern at last year’s change to bus services to urge you to look at reinstating the 61 and reversing the changes to the 4, 7 and 16 routes. This funding of £50 million pounds is a brilliant opportunity to right last year’s wrongs - and I wholeheartedly urge you to do so.
Hampshire County Council is set to receive £50 million to deliver on their Bus Service Improvement Plan.
The Council has an opportunity to right last year's wrongs and I will continue to urge them to reinstate previously dropped routes so that my constituents can access local services.

My comments on LBC this morning, urging the Government not to let the UK get drawn into this illegal, unilateral war.
Starmer needs to get on the phone to Trump and ask him to set out a plan to protect civilians and support a democratic transition in Iran.
We've seen before that bombs don't bring about democracy and regime change without a plan just leads to more chaos and suffering.

We cannot afford politicians who treat scientific consensus as a matter of opinion.
Driving 4x4s over precious habitats like chalk streams is ecological vandalism.
The Conservatives who run Hampshire County Council should listen to local people, shut off this route, and finally put an end to this madness.

I spoke to ITV this week about this trend of ecological vandalism and how I am calling on Hampshire County Council to take decisive action to protect our chalk streams.
The UK can't be dragged into another protracted Middle Eastern war by a US President. Keir Starmer needs to rule out the use of UK bases for any future unilateral US strikes.
The question is whether we are willing to let children die, go blind or become devastatingly ill for the sake of a few more votes.

The question is whether political leaders will be responsible enough to agree on objective scientific truths and respect evidence, no matter what party colours they represent.
Trust in vaccines did not collapse overnight. It eroded over time under sustained attack from figures who command large platforms and whose opinions are espoused confidently.
Vaccines work.
We have more than two centuries of data to prove it.
We have eradicated diseases from the planet because of them. They are among the most successful public health interventions in human history.
Whether we are taking about vaccines or climate change, politicians who weaponise scientific facts and ignore scientific advice for the sake of political culture wars, end up damaging both public health and the economy.
I've been speaking with parents in Winchester about the impact of AI chatbots. Children are writing less because AI "can do it better.” They’re spending more time indoors. They feel less confident.
We must regulate AI before it's placed in the hands of children, not after the damage is done.
We know that our chalk streams are facing a raft of existential threats at the moment. In the first seven weeks of 2026, sewage has been flowing into the Rivers Itchen, Hamble and Meon for nearly 2,000 hours combined.
This is unacceptable. We need tighter regulation on water companies now.
We cannot allow scrolling to become the new smoking.
Social media and AI Chatbots pose a huge public health risk to users, particularly to children who cannot understand that these bots are not real people and therefore cannot care.
We need better regulation to keep users safe online.
