7.0 had contributions from about 30 individuals, and a fully async API was the most commonly requested feature, second to none.
When the moment has come to decide the faith of the sync API, no one has showed up to argue for it.

As for the 7.0 API changes, that major has been discussed since at least 2017, and worked on since 2020 entirely in the open on GitHub. During at 3-4 years and 14 preview releases, everyone who cared had a chance to chime in. According to GitHub search and git log, you did not participate.
Those folks have been contributing to the RabbitMQ .NET client since ≈ 2015, regularly and meaningfully. To my knowledge, at least some have been doing that primarily in their free time. They've never "forced" or "pressured" Team RabbitMQ. They did develop trust and good will the with maintainers.
