When I had a sermon coming up in my field work parish during seminary in the early 1970s, I would sit at my desk on Monday morning with a yellow pad of paper and write out the readings in longhand. There was something about the tactile connection with the words.

The MOST BEAUTIFUL HYMN TUNE EVER WRITTEN
The MOST BEAUTIFUL HYMN TUNE EVER WRITTEN YouTube video by Ben Maton - The Salisbury Organist

I love Ben Maton's knowledge and sensitivity about our music and hymns.

I am truly ashamed of the country to which I used to swear my allegiance.

I never ever say "I gotta". I know it's a slurring of "I've got to."
I'm more likely to say "I hafta". (I have to.)
The first example leads some people to imagine a new verb: to got.
I've hea5my own nephews say, "She gots to do something."

And now the Vice President of the United States is leading another so-called dignified transfer of a corpse. You can see on his face that he knows he's a hypocrite. (Trump doesn't even know the meaning of hypocrisy.

I hate the term "dignified transfer". Nothing with that despicable man in his white baseball cap can be called "dignified".

Dear newscasters: We did NOT gain an hour of sunlight today. All we did was move an hour of daylight from morning to evening, by our naming conventions. The sun and the earth continue in their natural cycles.

But I don't see a shadow.

If any old Episcopalian like me needs to sit with a dying friend, I recommend this, which I've done many times with both parishioners and other friends: Sit with them in silence and read the Psalms from the Rite I Burial. (p. 471). It takes about half an hour. They'll know God's presence.

I've never been so ashamed of my country.

Does anyone really think that the deposed Secretary of Homeland Security has that as her real hair?
I keep mine short.
I've read about extensions. Do you think, maybe?
Then the lips seem to have their own chemical 'extensions'.
