art of the deal, baby
The entire Democratic strategy debate — "moderate" or move left? fight or compromise? — is based on a misreading of data. Voters don't think Dems are too progressive; they think Dems are weak. The actual math on what to do about this isn't even close!

Is This the Most Important Supreme Court Case of the Century? Feb. 22, 2026 The Supreme Court building at night, as seen from the U.S. Capitol. Y Yossarian Canada · Feb. 22 No, this Is NOT the landmark decision of the century. The key SCOTUS decisions are yet to come. They will be the rulings that overturn the following cases which blazed the trail for the current Republican control of the country: 1.“Citizens United”, whereby the billionaire oligarchs who fund Republican politicians were first enabled to use their immense wealth to overwhelm American voters with misinformation and propaganda without any limits; 2. “Rucho”, which not only legalized gerrymandering but killed any hope of SCOTUS later stepping in to regulate it in any way; 3. the “McDonnell” and “Snyder” decisions, which effectively legalized political bribery; and 4. last but most heinous, “Trump v. United States”, the ruling regarding presidential immunity which paved the path Trump has been using to march toward autocracy. These democracy-busting decisions were the predictable outcome of putting six intellectually dishonest political partisans who happen to have law degrees on SCOTUS to masquerade as impartial "Justices" and having them led by a Chief Justice who “calls balls and strikes" (his words) regardless of where the ball actually crossed the plate. Until the 6 Republican hacks who continue to uphold these decisions and who dominate SCOTUS can be neutered by adding at least 6 more seats to the Court and filling those seats with democratic-friendly (and Democratically-friendly) Justices, the U.S. will continue its present descent into autocracy.
S Seriously WA · Feb. 22 No, David. The most important Supreme Court case of the century was the one that deprived half of American citizens of a constitutional right. More than a few of these citizens have inconveniently died as a direct result. Never even occurred to you, did it? 152 Recommend
P Patrick Weidinger Lancaster PA · Feb. 22 If the vote had been 9-0, as it surely should have been, and if the vote had taken place within weeks or at most, a few months after Trump imposed his tariffs (which anyone who can read the Constitution could tell you is something only Congress is authorized to do), then maybe this vote would be considered important. 9 Replies 2.2K Recommend

are we the baddies?
me after reading any given article about the US men’s hockey team
Putting on my political theorist hat, what you're seeing here is someone with considerable power protecting and reinforcing the institution which empowers him. The power of SCOTUS is Katyal's power because he plays by its rules, so he'll exert effort to legitimate that power with claptrap like this.
“however that one man can absolutely commit murder as president and be immune from criminal prosecution, thanks to me and my colleagues”
BREAKING: The Supreme Court just blocked Trump’s reckless tariffs.
But let’s not pretend this is a redemption arc.
This is the same MAGA Court that:
🔴Gave Trump immunity
🔴Undermined federal protections
🔴Greenlit unconstitutional power grabs
One rebuke doesn’t fix a captured Court.
this was less about rebuking Trump and almost exclusively about protecting corporate profits. the court is still insane
Have you ever once seen the New York Times quote Trump like this?
😭😭😭 a community member just handed this off to a patroller in our neighborhood
is everyone else aware of the conspiracy theory that jake paul is wearing a lace front beard wig
I understand why people are doing it but I do not care for the Richard Hanania screenshots. If I cared what the nasty son of Nicolas Cage's character from Longlegs was up to, or thought about current events, I would have written the worst screenplay of all time addressing that very question.
Trump has lost the culture. But what if the universal conventional wisdom—that he won the culture in the first place—was never true? What if our warped media environment, then Trump's victory, created an illusion of MAGA cultural dominance that is now slipping. This is a long one, so strap in.

US Olympic Curling Team member speaks out against ICE:
"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."
The "Save America Act" is voter suppression dressed up as patriotism. It targets naturalized citizens, trans Americans, tribal citizens, and natural disaster victims with extra barriers. Don't let the name fool you.

I guess Jody Allen is technically the least heinous NFL owner but I have a personal gripe with her that I would like to share which is when I worked “for” her at EMP (now MOPOP) she decreed that we were never allowed to sit down, so I do hope she stubs her toe really hard on the way up to the trophy
If you are watching the opening ceremony on NBC, you won't hear the boos of JD Vance because NBC cut it. Corporations working to keep Americans in the dark about how unpopular their elected officials are. The White House reposted the censored clip.

this reminds me of working at NBC in 2017 and attending a "Diversity Event" that turned out to be hosted by Tom Brokaw (?) where he said "let's face it a lot of the Ferguson protestors were thugs" and I raised my hand and was like "is this event not totally bizarre to anyone else" lol

It’s important to understand that Dominicans and other immigrants are part of the fabric of Puerto Rican society — and ICE is currently terrorizing them on the island.
