Yeah, I've read this article a few times, and I can't say I understand the premise of this story.
It feels like a topic was assigned and delivered. But for the reader on the other end, its impossible to parse this without sifting through tea leaves.
I cannot imagine anything sadder than going to write a post on LinkedIn and then clicking the βrewrite with AIβ button. If you arenβt confident you can meet the baseline tone of LinkedIn? I dont know, man.
Sorry, I missed the third option, which was: completely change the meaning of the word: Unconditional
Not really relevant, but damn im impressed with this guy's ability to organize new information in his head while still speaking
Of note: There is no way for Trump to enforce an "unconditional surrender" without ground troops.
So either that is a lie or U.S. special forces is about to try to abduct dozens of people from bunkers in the middle of hundreds of thousands of hostile troops

The way I read media must be so different from most people on this app... I finished reading this story right before I logged on and thought:
'Hmm, yeah based on the story seems like there's not much of a problem with abuse here. Looks like everyone is doing a good job so far.'
we appear to be free-jazzing a war
There's definitely something to be said about which stories the big elite media outlets choose to put their energy into on the topic of trans issues.
Um... news apps and newsletters
Its so insane -- I literally knew more about this situation than the president did when he launched the strikes, and I only read newspapers and blogs!
It could still be good content regardless, but I think time likely separates it from "news"
I dont really understand the analytical utility of checking in with this same group throughout -- they're kindof collapsing the wave function here.
It becomes more of a sociological experiment about saving or gaining face...

The job of an op/ed page is not to only publish the "right" opinions. If a topic, policy, or decision is in the news / under discussion at the highest levels, the op/ed page at a national newspaper should be publishing pieces that make the case for that policy or decision. Even if the policy is bad!
Of course, the word "salary" would just be a clever bit of marketing
I think you could sell Americans on a sports-style soft salary cap
In real immediate terms, this just sets up a two-tier AI economy where companies that do business with the government have worse AI applications than companies that work with private business
Kudos to Mark Oppenheimer for writing this corrective. Andβ assuming that the corrective is indeed correct βshame on Kitty Kelley for an appalling breach of truth, ethics, and professionalism.

Coming from NY, Rikers Island has been a known scandal since forever. Everyone on every side of the debate acknowledges it. But nothing changes, despite a proposed closing date of 2027. If these camps go unchallenged and the new ones get built, we will never get rid of them.
Would be awesome if every level of society wasn't judged based on their industry equivalent of quarterly earnings reports
It'a crazy that all of these tiny public universities have major AI projects while thier teachers use literally 20 year old computers in classrooms that take an actual 15 minutes to boot up
Uuuh, have y'all seen this? Its not AI doomer or maxi, just a speculative report on a future reality that's on our trendline.
Its kinda like the news media spec we did on themopup.com , but for the entire economy

This is so well said, but a note to the repliers: very few of your kids or young friends are either representative or 'cool'. Please zoom out and aggregate for useful anecdotes lol

Me 20 hours in: oh the title is like βblueprintsβ I get it now
Saw the trailer for Project Hail Mary and literally screamed lol.
If you haven't read the book (same author as The Martian), I will just tell you that when I finished it I said to myself: well, there's no way they can make a movie out of THIS.
