Me: fun fact--
Husband: No! Your facts are never fun, they're either depressing or something I really don't want or need to know!

& keep the author's table in back? Glad my 6yo didn't ask any questions because I don't even know what I would've said π«£π₯²
Before hurrying out of the store. I'm all for reading what you want, you do you. & honestly, had I not been with my kid who can read, I would've talked to the author & maybe even bought one of her books or other accessories. & I get it was a small store. But maybe move the kids books to the front?
And as I squeezed by with my 6yo (carefully guiding her on the opposite side) the author said she also had kid friendly stickers. I briefly looked, realized I have a kid who can read and asks a billion questions, and just blocked the table with my body while we picked out a book for her & my 2yo...
Went to a new bookstore today & had such an odd experience. A BDSM author was there doing a signing, totally fine. Except...she was right next to the kids' shelf. & it wouldn't have been even s big deal at all, had the covers of her books not been very graphic. She was also selling stickers...
Itβs like veep but much much much stupider
When Americans raised concerns about RFK Jr.'s anti-vaccine views, he said he was "not gonna take away vaccines from anybody."
But now he's taking them away from millions of mommas and babies.
Vaccine recommendations should be based on science, not RFK Jr.'s political agenda.
Thank you! So glad you like it! I stopped designing when I had my kids, but I hope to get back into it soon!
Ooh! Hey look! It's me! (The one in the shawl) way back when I actually had time to design patterns π
Today's happy things:
1. Finding a really cool small bookstore
2. Taking a nap with my kiddos
3. All the birthday wishes from family & friends β€οΈ
Todays wins:
1. Peaceful morning walk through the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens
2. Finding an art supply/yarn store
3. Successfully navigating downtown Fort Worth alone with two kids (& managing to find a free parking spot!)
Today's happy things:
1. I drove us safely to our mini vacation (just a city over because husband has a work thing)
2. Toddler slept in the car the whole way
3. Went to a yarn store & said amazing husband bought me pretties for an early birthday present π
Same! Always doodling, changing colors of my pen/highlighters, or doing crossword puzzles in lectures π€£
3. Getting our family through the process of buying a house & moving a
2nd time, 4 months after our initial move
4. That even though I am struggling, & taking it day by day, I am working on myself in therapy and I still show up for my kids every day, & being the mom they need
1. raising two kids at home, every day, & several times completely on my own when husband was out of town. & homeschooling a neurodivergent kiddo, too!
2. Getting our family through moving to a different state
I don't post pictures of my kiddos on my public profile, but just wanted to give a shout out to myself lol. My youngest turned 2 today, & I want to take my therapist's advice & focus on what I have accomplished, instead of all the negatives & what ifs. So, I'm proud of myself for:
My first crochet project!! π§Ά
3. I had to take a course on Jane Austen while getting my M.A. in English, & fell in love. I couldn't believe I had let my mom's nonsense keep me from reading romance for so long, and I immediately became obsessed.
2. One New Year's Day, I spent the entire day watching period romances with my mother in law. We sat on the couch, I knit, she played spider solitaire, and chatted occasionally about the shows. Still my hands down favorite New Year I've had.
Love!!
1. I always liked romance movies & happy endings. But my mom teased me for it & always made fun of romances & complained about them in movies/TV. So I hid my love & stuck to horror, which was apparently acceptable.
Getting an oil change while you wait in the car is the best thing ever π
Excellent post
Daughter found some sparkly rainbow yarn in my stash & asked for a scarf. I have no rational reason as to why, but I really dislike knitting scarves. Of course I'm still knitting it for her, but I did try to convince her to let me make a cowl first. She would not π
Yes!! My son is 2, and yet he's the same height my daughter was at 1. I need real measurements!
January gnome done!
I just did the opposite. I used to have like 5-10 projects going & I hardly ever finished any of them. I've been fairly monogamous lately, and now I actually finish things!
Weird that we have to say this, but the government doesnβt get to decide what gender a person is.
Kid 1: can I try candy hearts?
Me: Honestly, I don't think you'd like them. I don't, and I don't think dad does either.
Husband: if I won't eat earwax at Halloween, what makes you think I eat chalk for Valentine's Day?

Beautiful!
Why is this so accurate π€£π₯²
