Presumably this is because they've been briefed to not u-turn on anything, because the u-turns have proved unpopular.

Labour are regularly finding themselves in damned if you do, damned if you don't situations and it's entirely their own fault.

The right will get a hold of this story and claim the hero was a paedophile trying to steal the child.

The Tories are dead
Reform got beat
Labour's on their knees
The glorious Mancs
Gave them all a spank
And voted in the Greens!

2v1? Sounds pretty mismatched, or was it even Stevens?

My chief concern with this policy is about implementation. While some countries have done it successfully, in others it's been disastrous. The focus should be on telling people that this policy only happens if we fix the healthcare system first and give the NHS the tools to make it work.

Commiserations to @pborogreens.bsky.social

Losing to Reform by less than 40 votes when Labour still had over 300 is a hard pill to swallow, but I'm sure you'll get them next time!

Clive, you're too principaled for this incarnation of the Labour party. I know you think you can do good, but they're too invested in their own interests. They want to help themselves, not the country. If when Starmer gets the boot you get another rubbish leader, please seriously consider defecting.

If Mandelson is being officially investigated for insider trading now, are we going to open up that investigation to previous governments too? Will anyone be looking at Truss leaking the mini budget to the hedge funds?

First climate migrants land in Australia after leaving sinking nation As rising sea levels continue to threaten the sinking nation of Tuvalu, Australia has welcomed the first group of climate migrants.

Climate change is literally causing migration, but the parties who want to stop migration also want more fossil fuel use. They're conveniently also being paid by the fossil fuel companies. What a strange coincidence...

I keep thinking about it, I work in sheet metal, and figure it would be less likely that I would scratch the screen if it's in my pocket. Currently rely on wallet cases that make my phone harder too use.

I corrected the stupid shit autocorrect did to this post like 4 times, because it was ridiculous. Still managed to miss that it said 'their' instead of 'there'

I've been listening to lots of left wing podcasts and similar while at work. While listening to @novaramedia.com or @boldpolitics.bsky.social YouTube has played me mid-roll ads for the Telegraph (a very right wing newspaper) and ones inviting me to help Israel.

It's been on Paramount+ as well for ages anyway. Maybe they're just making it exclusive. All the new stuff is over there too as far as I know, except maybe prodigy.

Always play board games if the chance presents itself!

Also if you did want to try D&D, or similar tabletop RPGs sometime, I'd happily have you as a player in one of my games sometime. Not running anything right now due to life, but if I get a game going over discord you'd be more than welcome!

Reform defends selection of Bangladeshi candidate in Portsmouth - BBC News Addy Mo Asaduzzaman, 23, has indefinite leave to remain in the UK after studying in Portsmouth.

I get why Reform would want a candidate from Bangladesh. I get why their supporters don't want it (though I don't agree).

But why would a person here with indefinite leave to remain, want to run for a party that wants to deport people with indefinite leave to remain?

European nations to begin major talks on ECHR migration rule changes The talks are the most significant sign yet that international human rights law could be reinterpreted.

Happy #HumanRightsDay!

Starmer has chosen to mark it by... kicking off negotiations on how to water down our human rights ๐Ÿคฏ
www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The ECHR protects all of us, so we should all be worried about changes that amount to "human rights... except for those people"

Ok, but fair warning, I'm hoping my band will be gigging by then, so you may have a CD, or similar thrust upon you in the desperate hope of getting on a stage

My understanding is that there was a scene with a nude/semi nude woman with a 12 year old on their shoulders. Steam decided this was sexual and involving a minor, so banned to be safe. Devs then changed the 12YO to someone in their 20s, but steam refused to reverse the decision.
