Reading (and reading and reading and reading) Tom's Crossing has me convinced that not only did Mark Z. Danielewski play Elden Ring, but he tried to get Torrent onto weird outcroppings
Great game. $2 for the soundtrack alone is too good.
Three buttons on a puzzle box, labeled in braille. Screenshot from Resident Evil Requiem.
POV: You are solving a puzzle box in a horrible place overrun with zombies. You've already seen that pushing a button makes a needle visually point to its corresponding symbol, making it easy to deduce what each button means. But no! You are going to drag some poor girl here and make her do it.
Disgusting
Day of the Devs 2026: San Francisco Edition is right around the corner and we're amped for the whole slate of games we have lined up! Games including Kiln, Dosa Divas, Soundgrass, and Escape Academy 2 will all be playable at the Midway on Sunday 3/8. RSVP today! bit.ly/dotd-sf-2026
If you're in SF for GDC, let's hang out. There is a whole city just blocks away from the Moscone!
That was me
Search Party is on Netflix now. I highly recommend watching it and not bothering trying to guess where it ends up, because you'll be wrong.
Misinformation is bad, unless it's about a thing I hate
Ah, one of the best ever, I firmly believe
And just to be clear, I find this example amusing because of the mundane real-world object chosen and then interpreted by the rules of the game. Half the game is "pickups have a cost," just as firing a gun does. It's cool!
But I think it is fun!
Funniest thing about inventory management in Requiem (which I love for its resoluteness) is when it prevents you from picking up a pencil that just needs to be carried to and used elsewhere in the same room. It does not need to be formally stored, Grace! Don't you write reports at your job??
Lara hanging off a cliff while a rival, Pierre, stand above her and taunts her. "An unfortunate situation, no?"
Though it's the second time we've visited one, this "Colosseum" is distinctly roman, what with its lions and undead gladiators (how are the lions still alive?) and statues come to life. And, as before, things do not end well for Lara's rival grave robber, Pierre.

For every year that passes without a Bloodborne remaster, the technical issues of the PS4 game become twice as bad in retrospect. If you play it in 2027, the frame pacing will instantly kill you
I thought someone was talking to me, but they weren't. I have to leave the bar now
The Curb full series Blu-ray set has a pretty good deal today, but I'm learning the old seasons are 16:9 cropped. That practice should be the subject of a "put a stop to the crop" episode.
Lara Croft facing off against a floating, helmeted head shooting green lasers out of its eyes.
"Trajan's Markets" has an awful lot going on for a second level: a good bit of verticality, some adventure game-esque item collecting, underwater puzzles and four (!) bosses, including TR1's Larson and an unexplained floating head that shoots lasers.
You shouldn't be back here.
WOW, using your internet to post right now? Show off your electricity and wealth much?
Kinda miss the days when people would just say my review was stupid. It wasn't a flashpoint between two cartoonishly binary states that pose arguments no thinking person is actually making.
A good and pointed read ... serrated even
Huh, might have to dip in after all ...
The title card of the Batman Animated Series episode "Almost Got 'Im"
The structure of this game is basically:
Scene of a newscaster saying "a private memorial service was today held for renowned archaeologist Lara Croft."
Lara staring out from a balcony overlooking a fountain in Rome at dusk.
With Lara presumed dead as we enter TR5, her pals gather at a memorial to reminisce about prior exploits, such as ... remember that time you played a surprisingly elaborate tutorial level in "Streets of Rome"?
Tightness != Good Fit
With gratitude, optimism is sustainable. If you can find something to be grateful for, then you find something to look forward to and you carry on. Says Skeletor working overtime on finding optimism.
