Taking a moment to wish everyone here a healthy and happy 2025, and positive connections with friends new and old (as I wait for the paracetamol to kick in).

Beautiful. Such a good idea.
GPs get such negative press.
My GP (who generally gives an excellent service) came in at 7.30am last week to do my son's blood test so he could get to school on time πππΌ.
In contrast I shamelessly stolen my daughter's chocolate from her advent calendar today after she failed to eat it before going to school π. #BadParent

I was reminded today that you can't just 'create safety' with a clever technique, or just declare "all views are welcome". The key thing is WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS when people speak up with honest views. Is there genuine openness & welcoming of diverse views? This will tell you something about safety.
That time of year when it takes at least 15 minutes longer to get to bed, due to switching off multiple fairy lights. I love it.
I'm totally addicted to it! Impressed by your results.
He sounded like such an amazing man.
Tonight's 3 good things...
1. I slept 55 whole minutes past my 5am standard insomnia time.
2. We finally cat-flea treated the carpets only 3m after we first intended too.
3. I found nothing but immense kindness in my connections with colleagues today. Hugely grateful π₯².

βMy favourite day of the week is Tuesdayβ¦because itβs the furthest one from Mondayβ

Me too. What you've done is phenomenal but the emotional labour for you must be immense.
I'm thinking of you on the anniversary Paula. So awful to hear he was buried incomplete. I can only imagine how traumatising this must have been for you all.
He has left an amazing legacy though, through your campaigning and through sharing him with us all. Do look after yourself today
Definition of a woman of βa certain ageβ:
- Too old to be bullied & intimidated.
- Too young to be patronised & ignored.
Terrifying to men of a certain type.
Ok so my #3 good things before dozing off on the sofa....
1)a neighbour visited with fudge & kind words which were exactly what I needed today.
2) bought some Xmas pressies from craftspeople rather than Amazon
3) I survived another day as a middle class woman of a certain age.
Apparently today is a day to be proud of being a #middleclasswomanofacertainage
The moral injury of seeing basic aspects of healthcare not happening is a heavy weight to carry. Its a big risk of burnout to take individual responsibility for what is a huge system problem. Any of us could doggedly work all hours & it wouldnt solve the problem. Important we stay conscious of this.
