I started watching this video on a lark when I saw your post. An hour later I’m texting friends with the link, and now they’re texting me back after getting sucked in. Frankly I’m a little bit embarrassed to be spending over two hours on a Minecraft video but this thing is absolutely great.

Can I nominate myself? Someone on Twitter once called it “the best lawn sign [they’d] ever seen,” so that must be worth something. The process of creating it with my graphic designer was a lot of fun; we got the handshake idea from an old JFK poster.
Flooding is the main risk of the storm in #Vermont, with at least minor impacts particularly late Sunday into Monday. Rapid snowmelt & up to 1 inch of rain may push some rivers to moderate flood stage. Ice jam flooding is also a concern, especially on the Winooski, Lamoille, and Missisquoi. #VTwx
Putting aside those first few newborn sized outfits for giving away is something else. They look so small, and yet just a week or so ago she fit into them! #Parenting

Today I learned that if you download the #Shazam app on your #iPhone (which has been owned by #Apple for a while), you get an important extra feature when using the Shazam button in your iOS Control Center—saving recognized songs to a special #AppleMusic playlist!
Excellent point regarding the sprayer/splash shield; that has been essential.
Thanks for the detergent reminder. So far I’ve been doing no soap prewash, wash with soap, double extra rinse. I’m probably using too much soap though, and it’s hard to find guidelines of what’s recommended!

Yeah, the laundry volume is something else. They take so long to wash and dry, considering how thick they are. Adds hours a day!

It was always our intent to use cloth, but a case of disposable-induced diaper rash pushed us full time.
I am enamored with Green Mountain Diaper’s Workhorse line. Nearly as easy to use as disposables but all cotton like a prefold. Can’t recommend it more highly.
Sitting here in the dark of the night, #parenting a newborn has led me to wrestle with this question: do I need a countertop water distiller?
It’s more than just a time or expertise issue. Semi-regularly I have people show up at my door out of nowhere to yell at me about entirely ministerial acts fully supported by the rules of the boards I serve on. Always happy to chat with folks, but no one volunteers to be abused. #VTpoli

Oh I hadn’t thought of that, quite interesting. Older people (e.g., me) see these as distinct due to their medium when we grew up, so we overlay that in our understanding; that medium distinction doesn’t exist for those who grew up with everything on Netflix.

A little lingo that may be helpful to your readers: when a bill goes into committee it goes “on the wall.” Why? There’s literally a bulletin board on the wall with index cards for each bill.
Of an unpopular bill, you might hear a lawmaker say “oh, we’re leaving that one on the wall.”
There’s an old saying in politics: the majority decides what will pass, and the minority decides when it will pass.
The second part of that equation only works if the minority is actually pulling all the levers available to them, which they are not.
I’ve been disappointed by the lack of interaction on this platform & was happy about your post today. I think the issue we are facing in this conversation is the inherent limitations of the medium. 300 characters is not enough to have a real conversation about issues, which is what I am lamenting.

Ok but I don’t care about what they say. As per my first question, I wanted to know your opinion. If you don’t want to offer one, fine, but that seems an odd way to end a discussion you asked to start. If we expect social media to be a valuable discussion platform we can’t mic drop links.
Why do you mean by limit and cap in this instance? Act 250 generally or something else?
Can you provide more info? Seems rather clear in my area good working class homes are being bought up as second homes.
I think we need to consider how things like Community Housing Trusts, deed restrictions, and spinning off a new non-homestead tax rate for second homes can change that calculus. [2/2] #VTpoli
Kevin does great work, it would be nice to see him here on Bluesky. One thing I feel is generally not talked enough about is the impact of the second home market. We can build all the housing stock we want, but if it’s gobbled up by people who don’t live here it’s a waste. [1/2] #VTpoli
