Yup. The gum will still be pretty soft due to the bone not fully forming yet underneath. Hence being sore if you have anything hard on it.
Oh please do get a follow up appointment. It's worth it! And the bone poking through might just be shards that can poke through and escape now and then!
It's a weird sensation, right?! Even though the site semi heals at 2 weeks, the bone hasn't fully formed and won't until 3 months. Meaning it's still sensitive yay! I learned the hard way the first time 😭😅
After having my 4th tooth extraction (got one more in the next coming weeks or months), I should be used to this but I'm just not 😭
Bear in mind 3 normal molars I've had taken out but the other two (incl today) are wisdom.
