Same great experience with host site. Lots of networking. I quit my full time benefit job to do AmeriCorps. My dad thought I was crazy. It was hard financially so I only did one year and got my dream job before my AmeriCorps year was up ❤️

The hardest part about public health is that when we succeed, there's no crisis, no epidemic. People carry on with daily life, unaware of a near-miss. We may never know how bad it could have been - because our public health workforce is always taking action to avoid, prevent, and control threats.

I’m a part time librarian and I just want to echo what I’ve seen other librarians say recently: there is a HUGE uptick in requests for social justice, climate justice, abolition, history, etc books and I just want to say nobody is giving up the fight. If anything people are fighting harder #library

The cognitive dissonance of getting up every morning and making coffee and walking the dog and going to meetings and answering emails and wondering what to make for dinner while there is a real live actual coup d’etat happening is BONKERS

they are mostly targeting black employees so this is quite literally just a repeat of woodrow wilson’s segregationist purge of the federal government

Here's the deal. Trump and his people are counting on our fatigue and on overwhelming us, so pick a few things that piss you off THE MOST and focus on what you can do to help those things. Pace yourself.
