sad because she is (was??) a generational vocal talent. even if she's developing some rough edges... it would seem stylistically appropriate to just let us hear em!!

not sure what's up w the vox production these past two records. I keep hearing artifacts of sloppy pitch correction or smth. obvious answer is "she's getting old" but she sure doesn't seem to have lost any of her register and intensity. & the guest vocalists on carnival seem to have the same problem
new ringo sheena is kind of a mixed bag but I like the samba tune a lot and this one's pretty crazy youtu.be/3L0PQUxnfKI
this is based on a song that rhymes tipsy with gypsy. what a joke youtu.be/gGlJbEHgpXg
"Embraceable You" Embrace me, my sweet embraceable you Embrace me, you irreplaceable you Just one look at you My heart grew tipsy in me You and you alone Bring out the gypsy in me I love all the many charms about you Above all, I want these arms about you Don't be a naughty baby Come to papa, come to papa do My sweet embraceable you
in the ~hundred years since its composition has there ever been a more beautiful melody with worse lyrics
thanks for this! feeling more likely to check it out now. think it will prob hinge on whether mc's perspective clicks with me but I think I wouldn't complain about spending a few hours on a vn with even one of the strengths you mentioned..
wow props! I played it a bunch relatively unspoiled in grade school and barely barely scratched the surface, would like to go back sometime
(did you ascend in nethack???)
any thoughts on zato? some friends have been playing lately and I haven't really got a sense of it. the trailer made me think it might be "milk outside"-ish in tone (felt just lukewarm about that one) but I like the visual style
this seems like a self report that no one has ever gazed intensely into my eyes but I don't think that's even true, I probably just blocked out whatever they said. not interested in knowing myself that well
but yeah it turns out they're green I think. does everyone like this stupid nothing type of posting. I don't have any new music
went almost 27 years w/out knowing what color my eyes are but I had to renew my license online recently so I decided to check. been just using "hazel" as a codeword for "I don't know". I must have intuited that eyes are terrifyingly alive up close. staggered away from the mirror like a horror movie

Today we have an amazing interview from 1989 with Shigeru Miyamoto and Shigesato Itoi. Conducted shortly after the release of Mother, it's full of deep musings about realism, creative exhaustion, the moral panic over kids & gaming, and prescient visions of the future. shmuplations.com/itoimiyamoto/

a little tremolo, maybe. a little col legno if they wanna get artsy with it
TONIGHT
tune in live in ~5 hours
maybe you're allowed one twitch at 30 minutes when the second tone appears
sachiko m - bar sachiko
the routine is sitting perfectly motionless on the ice for exactly one hour (they should give a perfect score to anyone who can do this)
update: cool album but I really don't get what they were trying to do with the french horn
Donkey Gorilla / MZ-700 / Tecno Soft / 1983
some really fresh ideas in here.. I was expecting like vn-core fm music (which would be great ofc) but there's a lot of cool spooky timbres/tonal weirdness. reminds me a little of like shadowland or splatterhouse
will you pop this on bandcamp at some point! I want to download
credit to my pxtone server friends for serving up most of these recs
now I think it is finally time for my emo phase. let's see what this "cap'n jazz" nonsense is about
