SirΔt is fascinating in its hypnotic beauty, but sadly not much beyond that. I really couldnβt get into this oneβitβs one of those movies you either love or donβt. Not really my cup of tea, unfortunately. Gorgeous to look at, though!

For International Womenβs Day, I put together a list of films directed by women, some underrated gems, some pioneers who broke ground. These are some of the stories that have stayed with me, and I hope they stay with you too! π€

same, i thought it was so much fun!
yeah, i couldnβt remember lol. i knew it was a C something. i actually participated in that π one of the few iβve done lol
i have a feeling the bride! might end up being a jenniferβs body situation. iβm pretty sure it even had the same cinemascore. i remember loving that movie when a lot of people around me hated it. now my friends love it and it blew up with gen z. iβll happily ride that same wave with the bride! lol
aww, thank you so much, JenΓ©e! that means a lot!!! iβm glad you enjoyed the movie! π€
I absolutely adored The Bride so much. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the Bride, wondering who she really was beyond that brief moment in the 1935 film. This movie finally gives her that life.
My review:
jessie buckley in the bride
jessie buckley in the bride
jessie buckley & christian bale
jessie buckley in the bride
#TheBrideMovie is the film Iβve dreamed of since falling for The Bride of Frankenstein as a kid. Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale burn with raw energy, every frame electrified. Costumes, cinematography, atmosphereβpure, dark magic. Movie of the year π€
Every Republican president in my lifetime has picked a war based on a lie when his favorability rating started to tank.
America has never been the shining city on the hill. We've been the land from whence monsters come in the night to drop bombs and fire on children and innocents.
my heart aches for all those little girls ripped from this world, all because some orange fuck cares more about power and money than human life. itβs horrifying, and honestly, itβs shameful to be an american
yep, this is truly the beginning of trump-invested hollywood. Iβm so fucking tired, man
yep, you're not wrong with this.
itβs always about the shareholders, never the art. this paramount/wb deal will go down as the most disastrous, soulless moves in hollywood history. itβs bigger than just movies. this is going to cause damage in ways we canβt even fully see yet. scary stuff
honestly, if this deal with paramount/wb goes through I'll never cover anything from them ever again
reposting this list incase anyone missed it. it kind of blew up on letterboxd and now has over 300 movies. enjoy! maybe you will find something you will love! #FilmSky #Moviesky π¬ #Sapphic #WLW #Lesbian #Queer
"If you love stories about women defying the rules, queer love that burns slow and bright, and fairy tale worlds that feel alive, you need to see this movie"

so, i spent hours curating a list of over 200 sapphic films directed by women. stories about women loving women just hit different when women are behind the camera. i would love for you to check it out or maybe recommend anything iβm missing. :) letterboxd.com/caonfilm/lis...
i love mubi's short films. jokes aside this is beautifully animated.

for those who donβt know: ALYSA LIU literally retired after the 2022 olympics, left skating for two years, went to college, lived her life, then came back, won worlds, and just won olympic gold. a comeback for the ages. i love seeing women win. i love figure skating. absolute cinema β¨
finally caught up with falcon lake (2023) earlier today, and all i have to say is: someone PLEASE, for the love of god, put sara montpetit in more movies. this girl channels anna karina, man, sheβs so, so good. watch this if you havenβt! it's on tubi! :)
aww, its okay! yeah, itβs out in theaters here now, but not at one near me, sadly. I'll wait until it hits VOD
this movie sounds really good!
SAY IT LOUDER SO THEY CAN HEAR YOU IN THE BACK!
i hate this so much lol
I know itβs not going to be for everyone, and there is valid criticism to be had, but I had a blast with it. It reminded me of being a teenager reading the book for the first time, it captured that feeling so well.
Hope you enjoy it! Excited to hear your thoughts π
itβs insane, iβve had people tell me iβm a terrible person because i loved wuthering heights. like, what are we even doing anymore, man? take me back to the early days of social media, or none at all lol
a week hasnβt gone by that i havenβt thought of the film sorry, baby. ugh, itβs honestly one of the greatest debuts ever made. eva victor is so special
Lauren Bacall could even make a cigarette look cool
A Family quietly captures the world of kids caught in the middle of divorce. Nina and Eli navigate love, loyalty, and loss with heartbreaking honesty. Tender, intimate, and unforgettable. #Berlinale
