Very interested in this, but I am in Dublin. Will it be streamed?
Elon Muskβs staffers are trying to push into the National Gallery of Art. They recently met with the museumβs director and legal team, to question its legal status and explore ways to assert influence. One of the nationβs most respected art institutions is now in their crosshairs.
Did this awhile ago - so fortunate to have the option!
We're asked to believe that details of an impending military operation are NOT classified? If it's all so innocent you might as well share with a news editor.
A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they donβt die.
Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Exiting a bus this morning in suburban Dublin when I see an old Irish man make a rude gesture as he says βTrump and Vanceβ He then grasps a Ukrainian man in solidarity who is also exiting the bus with his wife and elderly mother.
The US is a laughingstock!
4. The employees are told repeatedly to report waste, fraud, and abuse.
If these employees leave govβt service, they are often restricted from working on projects that are even remotely related to what they worked on while govβt employees.
3. The $ that is spent is thoroughly accounted for. There are numerous checks to ensure the tax payers got value for money.
The $ not spent in a certain time frame expires.
Add to this every govβt employee has serious background checks & swears an oath to uphold & defend the constitution.
2. There are also accounting rules that exist in Govβt only. Govβt agencies can have $ that can only be used for certain things or in certain time frames.
This $ is taken in by IRS, which is part of the exec branch. Congress (legislative branch) says how and when the money can be spent. π§΅
I have worked in both Govβt & tech.
The definition of ROI is different for the 2. Tech: return = increasing profit/ stock price. Govβt: return is improved quality of life for the countryβs population. π§΅
No matter who I am talking to, I try to avoid any jargon. If I feel jargon might help the conversation, I define it. If they use jargon, I ask them what do you mean when you say (foo).
As a UX researcher/ behavioral scientist this is my soap box issue.
There is too much branding in these fields.
I have lost count of the number of misunderstandings small and large, because people have 2 different definitions of the same term. (1/2 π§΅
Wow! No words
If you are in UX, you should learn about JJ Gibson β¦ he came up with the idea of affordances.
Just discovered this photo of my grandfather and 2 of his 5 siblings. For Irish orphans they managed to see the world. 1 settled in UK -1 in the US - 1 in Hong Kong - and 1 in New Zealand (2 stayed in Ireland) β¦ but a meet up in Tahiti made sense for 3 of them!
4. After the task is complete - ask the participant to go back and explain what they did and why or ask them about other components of the UI. All of this will help to make sure users can build a mental model of the system
Make everything as simple as possible, but no simpler - Einstein
3. In usability tests - you must test if there is enough friction to build s mental model. if using Figma, you must enable all the buttons not just the happy path.
2β¦Friction can be important to usability. Force users to make a decision between 2 (or more) CTAs. It will prevent what Rasmussen termed βaction slipsβ (e.g., pressing ok when they meant to press cancel).
.
Too simple - said no user ever/ NNG group
I have had a user say this & observed it in a usability test. The call to actions were so clear that the userβs were mindlessly clicking them. They did not build a mental model. So when the automation didnβt work as expected - they were at a loss.
Yeah Tom Holland is Irish.
How do you know me or why are you following me? I
If you have worked for the US government in the past β¦ you understand why the proposed DOGE is a lack of understanding of the federal workforce.
It really is about finding what works for kid.1 kid refused until the parents said If you donβt go in toilet, you will not wear pants. Kid has not warn pull-up since. Another kid, parents said you canβt go to school with pull-ups. The kid started using toilet.

If funding projects, then you might not have a team available when you need one.
If you are funding teams, you need to be clear on what projects they can/not succeed on and prioritization. You also need to fund pet projects - for the in-between times.
