Don't know but I'd suggest if you go for it, putting in terms & conditions regarding feeding your work into AIs after delivery. And then run your art though some anti-ai protection a few times before delivery.

The death gods thing was a cleric player who wanted a death god. Alright, this was a world with multiple species-based pantheons, so I came up with half a dozen different gods of death that I really, really liked, from the implacable draconic to the reluctant smallfolk.

Tied between death gods and the Mara.

Player said she wanted to play a succubus, with the important details being wings, shape shifting, and draining life. I made a scaled down version that was viable, and several iterations later, we have the Mara.

Demon-wise, galbrezu, marilith, or generic cambion- think the latter would be a tiefling, actually. Multitasking spellcasters with telepathy sounds interesting.

Elemental, either earth or water. Elemental manipulation, the ability to move through stone or breathe water is appealing.

Serious answer would probably be demon or elemental.

Unserious answer would be human. I'd tell everyone it's half-skeleton, but that half is on the inside.

Beyond that, haven't thought too much about it yet. The usual array of small creatures, but I'll want to add some more.

Unfortunately eating the flesh of the undead has corrupting effects, which extend to vermin and scavengers. So the unquiet can result in a serious pest control issue. Also have to be careful about the earthworms if you're a gravedigger.

The unquiet dead are a problem on multiple levels. If funerary ceremonies are not performed, the dead will rise, gravitate towards the places they frequented, and lash out at anyone who enters their personal space. Communities who don't have a local ritualist opt for temporary restraints or burning.

Would really appreciate people re-sharing and whishlisting our game, as indie devs with zero budget, spreading the word and getting our wishlist numbers up will be a massive help. Thanks in advance to anyone who has done so.

Actually a mechanical system that could work for that is straight from fighting games: a potion or whatever that gives you X temporary health or whatever, and converts that to permanent health over time. Analgesics plus healing acceleration.

09.03.2026 15:55 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Exactly what I'm planning to do though I'm looking at the enclosed versions as I kinda want to opt for ABS filament over PLA. But my STL to-buy list has so much terrain in the queue...

But for worldbuilding, you can get around the economic & trades issue of instant healing in a bottle if the common version accelerates natural healing rates to a more moderate degree.

And I think IRL we'd all love a prescription that reduces recovery time after surgery and such.

Analgesics being a separate thing from anesthetics is one I didn't get at first either.

And I feel people don't do enough with the lesser cousin of healing potions, healing accelerators. Mechanically in games where you can recover full HP in 8 hours, no point.

There are rituals to remove pain as well, which will last longer, but they block all ability to feel pain. Vigorous activity can aggravate existing injuries and worsen wounds, so patients are recommended to rest while they are under the effects.

For the average person there are alchemical analgesics, though they will typically have side effects: dulled sensation in the area, dizziness, lethargy, fever, mild nausea, or foggy vision are all possible depending on the particular mixture. These are often included in mixtures to speed healing.

Okay, not quite what I was anticipating from the concept art, but this is a early version so waiting to see. Still interested

I'm not sure that they mean the therapy will be needed from discovering queerness exists so much as needing therapy after the subsequent talks with their parents.

Which...*looks toward White House* I can understand that evaluation.

There aren't any 'official' spy organizations yet, but I could see various powers having spymasters or the like, organizing networks of informants and operatives similar to in Andor.

06.03.2026 14:37 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

There aren't a lot of what one might call true spies. The Mara and Dalis could do so, though the Dalis being actual spies is as rare as finding a frog tooth. Artisan constructs could be built for it, overtly or covertly.

Worst is going to be harder. I want a region that's an ashen waste, reliant upon dark magics and violence to survive hives of nightmarish abominations. But I need to justify and refine that.

Levona, or Corgharl. If you're part of a high house in Levona you've got a good standard of living in a temperate inland plains area. Very pastoral. Corgharl is a Mediterranean urban socialist island with high technology, by contrast.

Usually pick a word or set of words that feel appropriate, find translations of those words, blend together several I like, and boom, new word.

1. Extraplanar entities (such as gods) care about your well-being as a unique person.

2. Living creatures made of flesh and bone are not self-aware or sapient.

3. The Mara have to consume the flesh of intelligent beings to survive.

I've been looking at various STLs that follow the Nothic's design of 'normal-ish shape but one giant eye' and I am inclined to try to incorporate Beholders into this theme to build out a complex ecology of observers

Great way to illustrate your work when you can't afford to commission an artist. Buying stock art sets from artists is also a good way to support them.

03.03.2026 15:29 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 1 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I have to admit I'm always mildly disappointed by the fact that the Beholder isn't more complex than eye beams, paranoia, and dreaming progeny into existence.

03.03.2026 15:23 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I do have an idea but I respect your preference to not know it

I appreciate the fact that due to my resin curing station having a yellow cover and sitting opposite a window, if I cure prints at night with the lights off, from the outside it looks like I've got some eldritch mad scientist thing going on in my hobby hours.

One day I'd like to find a Threshold I can share with others, before it all Slips my mind. I think the world could use that, these days. A way to step out of the Garden, and explore the Wilder places, on the edge of the Seeming. Where it feels like home.
