A student I was talking to today had it exactly right on this latest White House bullshit claim
“It’s at the perfect intersection of hating disabled people and wanting women to be in pain”
There’s not only no link, the claim is both ableist and misogynist.

A year of waiting, of preparation, of form filling, anxiety & most crucially supporting a (not so) little boy with a lack of sufficient support at school. And the LA decided to concede 3 hours before tribunal - they could have done that 12 months ago but no....this is the issue with the SEND system!

And your response is "but you seem cool/awesome/normal"

Have you read the study though? It's full of a lot of holes. E.g. only reduces frequency in females (no sig effect on males) in the study compared to TAU which wasn't standardised, plus other limitations they identified....don't think we're out of a job yet 😅

Even as a health care professional this is my fear telling people I'm autistic....the sudden change in expectations of me based on one word 🙄 sorry you had that experience!
So the government is adopting the language of critical/anti-psychs with their “we are all a bit autistic/ADHD etc” language.
This is not simply minimising the impact of neurodevelopmental conditions, it is erasing the importance of diagnosis in order to cut services.
I’ve been waiting for people to move off X/Twitter. I was heavily invested in Twitter as a place of community and digital sociology since the days of Ferguson. Bluesky is now that place.
