I'm so sorry, Moose
I did find that on the second read it revealed a lot more, but jesus how much of anyone's life can someone spend reading this one book
Also, congrats
Well, I did it! It took over 4 months, but I finished Infinite Jest. *takes bow*
This Radio 4 doc has too many spoilers imho to be an intro, but is absolutely perfect when youβve just gotten to the end of the book and are reeling from it, and beginning to try to get your head around it π
Huh, I feel like Lead Mojo is insulting me
Ah, so no good for driving
Caveat-or @alicefraser.bsky.social is BACK w/ vengeance seeker @alisonspittle.bsky.social & mega-quibbler & mustache twirler @jlukeroberts.bsky.social to talk squirrel condoms, big holes, civilian stars, dirty Muppets, and gap-year fatalities! Chase the miracle!

I foolishly quote this when I'm trying to get people to watch the show
People of Britain! This Wednesday you can catch my R4 special Eleanor & Pals, a character comedy show starring me and Zara Gladman, and featuring everyone's favourite sad man, Craig!

Fuck your ChatGPT, if I want to see a caricature of myself I will make the effort to go to the seaside and pay Β£15 for a cruel man to give me body dysmorphia like weβve always done.
"You're JOKING?! Not Another One" I am NOT joking, but @samlakecomedy.bsky.social is. And he's bringing us his tour show tonight! Not only that, but Rob Rouse doing new stuff, Maia Tassalini making a debut, & @tobyhadoke.bsky.social keeping it all together. Delicious. wegottickets.com/event/685193
My old teacher Philippe Gaulier has died. I learnt an awful lot at his school, going there changed my life, and I remain terrified of him to this day. RIP.
Am available to make more fun documentaries about difficult art, if anyone's offering
Whenever I log on I have 30+ new follows from accounts with no posts and no followers. It's... fine I guess but a bit weird.
I have thousands and thousands of followers who seem completely made up. How do I stop this? (I realise this will largely be read by made up followers)
The prize is a real monkey's paw. The last part of the book is extraordinary imo, but if you tell anyone about it then you're cursed with having become the type of person who recommends Infinite Jest
Oh wow, thanks. That seems almost like a prank
Yeah we should respect image rights
Or breaks in and steals the photos
I'm doing this show for the first time in 5 months today at #LeicesterComedyFestival before lots of London show and then a tour.
Annoyingly @herring1967.bsky.social and Stephen Fry are on at the same time and are stealing all my nerds
Sorry to butt in - can I ask how does the audiobook deal with the endnotes? Just out of curiosity
Still unreasonably proud of "it's a bit of an un-read flag"
very excited to be previewing my show at the venue that made me fall in love with live performance. brockley jack studios. south east londoners come on down! brockleyjack.co.uk/jackstudio-e...
Seems like a good time to reshare my Radio Four Infinite Jest documentary. We tried to make it so it gives you a decent idea whether or not you'd like the book.

TS ELIOT: [visibly sweating]
A Dutch term for someone who acts tough but is actually a coward is held op sokken. It means βhero on socks.β The phrase originally referred to when, during a confrontation, a phoney tough guy would ditch their noisy clogs so they could retreat quietly in just their socks.
