Might I suggest checking out the Foto app. I have no vested interest etc in it - I’ve just found it a promising and refreshing place for photography

We see this process being attempted to be renewed now, including denial by some of the Nazi salute made by the world’s richest person - a man who apparently has enough idle time to give speeches to far-right Germans saying the past is no big deal.

I love the randomness of the details on this story. It reminds me that probably most of everyday routine and drudgery is just beside wonder and discovery.

I don’t like the idea of any social media being a photo album or anything more than thumbnails - any photographer needs a piece of their own to show photos as they see fit, with SM being merely a pointer towards that place.
So, low-res photos are no problem really.

We were talking about online hawkers who detract from the positives photography offers.

Yes! There’s little to no ethical accountability too - which to even a moment’s consideration really devalues any recommendations.
Some good information sometimes but, critical thinking needed!

I do think the next few years will see a big redefining of social media and how (many) people use it.
Dr. Jonathan Haidt among others have compelling data on how it’s ruined so many young people. I think the key is to make your own website central and any SM a simple occasional add-on to that.
