This photo is stunning: snowy landscape, a thin crescent Moon glowing with an orange halo, and two bright dots nearby – Jupiter shining strong, Saturn fainter. Twilight sky in soft purple and pink tones, feels almost unreal, pure magic. They call it a “triple conjunction” because from down here on Earth the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn look super close together… even though out in space they’re ridiculously far apart!

The image captured by the Hubble telescope shows a cosmic scene with clouds of gas and dust in the Large Magellanic Cloud, reminiscent of cotton candy for their lightness and texture. The clouds have an ethereal and filamentary shape, with soft and irregular edges that intertwine fluidly, creating an effect of movement and depth. The dominant colors are bright and contrasting hues: shades of intense pink, greenish-blue mix with touches of red and orange. These hues give a vibrant and surreal appearance, with lighter areas that seem to glow against dark patches. This MIRI's image shows a close-up view of the spiral galaxy NGC 2566. Its core is a round and intensely bright spot, circled by eight long spikes that are artefacts of the JWST's structure. Its disc is an oval shape with edges made of very thick and cloudy arms of gas and dust, predominantly blue but paler and brighter around patches of stars.
For those who missed it, here is a splendid image of the spiral galaxy NGC 2566, captured by #JWST using the Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI).

A clusters of stars against a mainly dark sky with some moonbeams. From Wikipedia: One of the nearest open clusters to Earth, it contains a larger population of stars than other nearby bright open clusters holding around 1,000 stars. Under dark skies, the Beehive Cluster looks like a small nebulous object to the naked eye, and has been known since ancient times.
