This problem isn't new in football or isolated to just the Women's game but it is disrespectful. We are lucky to work with an incredible network of broadcasters, stadium announcers and fan groups who are trying very hard to get it right ...
This means every weekend a club in the Women's game will pronounce their own players wrong as they step onto the pitch ...

Different broadcasters will also have different levels of support on this issue....
Every team will have players whose names are 'easy' to pronounce so a text guide is omitted. These are still frequently mispronounced. Added to this text guides go wrong a lot. Different countries and different parts of the UK will not pronounce the text guide the same way ...
