it's always "but this boycott doesn't account for my (main character of the world) specific situation!". it's like all good dude I'm sure people would understand but also just shut the fuck up about it lol.
a screenshot of a blogpost reading: "Ten Intangible Tips for Development Editing Your RPG Manuscript "Development editing occurs while the manuscript is still being written. Compared with line and copy editing, which focus on the sentence-by-sentence questions, development editing focuses on higher-level questions of structure, form, and content. "1. No Questions, No Suggestions "Many setting guides feature open-ended questions without extant answers. Hereβs a made-up example: "> Deep within the dungeons of Castle Hochstein, Count Vermeer keeps a terrible secret sealed in an ancient vault. What could he be hiding?"
what's up gamers, I'm back with another blogpost about editing. this one's about development editing rather than line and copy editing, though, so the tips are all a little more vague and philosophical. hope you enjoy anyways: samsorensen.blot.im/ten-intangib...

screenshot of a blogpost that reads: "Ten More Tangible Tips for Editing Your RPG Manuscript "1. Remove instances of here from location descriptionsβitβs obvious youβre describing the location already. Instead of 'A hobgoblin hammers iron here,' write 'A hobgoblin hammers iron on an anvil.' "2. For the same reason, remove instances of this in description entries. If you must reference the entryβs subject, use 'the.' Instead of 'Smoke fills this room,' write 'Smoke fills the room,' or better yet 'Smoke fills the air.' "3. When writing entries for monsters, magic items, and so on, skip repeating the name of the subject with [X] is or [X] are in the first sentence. Instead of 'VODYANOY: Vodyanoy are froggy, pot-bellied water spirits,' write 'VODYANOY: Froggy, pot-bellied water spirits.'"

unfortunately there's no magic bullet beyond trying a bunch of shit repeatedly. the reason these apps are so hard to quit is because they brainblast you in a way basically nothing else can match.
