That would be lovely ๐คฉ
That's really good to know, because the bottom level of my back lawn is mostly moss now. It's lovely and soft to walk on!
I feel like this is the beginning of a horror story
I roll out this quote in general life more often than you'd think
Can you fit more birdseed inside than the external dimensions would suggest?
All hedge cuttings are now in the brown wheelie bin, despite their enormous number
5. Victory!

4. It's OK, we can make room (husband's face redacted because he doesn't do social media)

3. We're going to need a bigger bin...
Both this photo and the one next to it show the base of a freshly cut hedge surrounded by cuttings that now need to be tidied up
2. Regret

1. I feel powerful!
Do you think I can get away with describing myself as 'Award-winning copy editor and proofreader' if books I've copy-edited and proofread are longlisted for prestigious awards? Maybe I should start charging a premium (the books in question were outstanding before I did my bit, but still...)
Ghoulish and awful. I've always disliked Grammarly for its poor suggestions and pushy nature of advertising, but this is beyond the pale.
Ha! That's exactly how runs are for me. I don't understand how the same distance, and the same route, can feel so different when done just days apart
Screenshot of an excerpt from a fantasy romance novel in which the author, lavendellebooks, has written 'I don't want to be good at collecting soups' instead of 'I don't want to be good at collecting souls'
Borrowed/stolen from Threads as this is such an epic typo. And because I would gladly collect soups

Should be a great event if anyone's down that way on 9 March (sadly, I'm not). It was a pleasure working with the lovely Izidora on the copy edit โ and very exciting to see the novel now International Booker longlisted!
They do say to see the beauty in everyday things...
Sources suggest that it's possible... www.livescience.com/snake-eel-bu...
One thing I've had to google today: 'Can an eel chew its way through a bird's throat from the inside?' #Editing is never dull...
Oh no! Hope you're warm and dry again now x
Anyone else unable to log in to the COED website today? I've been trying since early this morning and keep getting the message 'This premium oxforddictionaries.com page can't be found: No page was found for the web address premium.oxforddictionaries.com/auth/login [followed by login code]'
No, MS Word, I don't want to change 'he brought his fists up and glared at me threateningly' to 'he mentioned his fists and glared at me threateningly'

Yes! I suspect that's what I was trying to get to earlier! Thanks!
Maaaaybe, but perhaps a bit reminiscent of the Wild West rather than a French town?
Maybe... I'd like it to be a single word if possible, or to fit rhythmically
Thanks - someone else suggested the latter one. I probably should have given some context - the character is returning to the town where she grew up, having lived in Paris for many years, and it's not exactly in the middle of nowhere, just an inconsequential place
Thanks - it's a character returning to the nothingy town where she grew up, and I maybe could do with something that didn't imply rurality. Otherwise would be a good option!
Question for UK #edibuddies and wordy people in general who know BrE well - is there a good solid and fairly informal equivalent in BrE to the US generic 'nowheresville'? I'm sure there must be something, but my brain is not playing ball today!
