What's worse is that I'm sure someone's grandpa saw one of these and believes it.
Protect your energy. Protect your goals. Don't allow anyone to influence how you feel about yourself. Keep your head down and let the scoreboard talk. #theblackhokage #lifeadvice
That's not a scorpion. That's an origin story
A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Yearβs Eve. And like RenΓ©e Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.
I need yβall to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

Yes you're a good person, your such a good person. *scratches ear* we know you're a good person.
But my answer is for people who may who wonder why such behavior happens in the face of such enshittification and what phenomena has to be countered to drive adoption to other platforms.
For me detaching from that little bit causes kind of a sting. I imagine it's harder for people who've been on that platform for close to a decade and formed even more professional/social connections.
Switching costs. There is still a small number of people who I like to engage with who are only on twitter. Or they have both, but don't post here much.
I didn't even use Twitter heavily until 2020 when I started making connections to a small but passionate community around a game I like (1/?)
Just ignore that baby on the ceiling, he's harmless...

Do people actually like playing games? Or do they like being perceived as a gamer?
Do these companies know something we don't?
Do any of y'all watch anything on PeerTube (or other YouTube alternatives)? I'm learning about the Fediverse now and I'm curious if people see it as a realistic future alternative. Or if it's even on people's radars at all.
It's been a looonnnnggg time since I watched #GeneralHospital with any regularity, but I'm getting some warm fuzzies seeing how much people are still into the show.
I don't know who Drew is, but he sounds pretty bad π.
Also, RIP Anthony Geary ππΎ

It needs training data. Unfortunately, I don't think the people backing these projects care too much if some of that data is from failures.
I played Call of Duty: Ghosts and was surprised at how...non-existent...the characterization was for the player character.
Now I'm on the hunt for good FPS campaigns with a silent protagonist and great characterization.
Drop your recommendations here ππΎ
This post made me think that maybe he dropped a new video. Now I'm sad. π
For the folks working on the YouTube alternatives that will probably spring up in the wake of this age verification BS, just gonna leave this FoldingIdeas video right here:

So I think in a way we need to address this weird dread inducing way we look at Math in our society.
As I look back, I realized, I would struggle and become demoralized when seeing the other kids who "just got it." All the while, not realizing that they might have been struggling too, or had extra help in the form of a parent or tutor.
In the US, I'd say we have a big false dichotomy problem with math (and by extension tech) that says you're either a "math person" or you're not. So by a young age you just stop trying.
It's like we are brought up to believe everyone is either John Nash or someone who can barely comprehend Algebra.
As someone who went into tech as a career later in live (even though I was always very comfortable with computers growing up), this was the case for me.
If anyone had asked me in high school, my first thought would have been "well, I have a hard time in math classes, so no."
Boo.
I've also been sourcing components over time for a new AMD build and I just checked the RAM (Corsair Vengeance). Probably will still work with AMD, but clearly it prioritizes Intel overclocking profile out of the box.
Boo!
Yikes! I know motherboards target DDR generations, and I think I hear someone mention the "settling" thing one. But I've never heard of RAM kits being bound to CPU platforms. Which RAM kit is it?
Mav out here doin' the Lord's work. π«‘
Yet another thing we lost with brick and mortar bookstores: If you have to walk past other genre sections to get to what you want, sooner or later curiosity is going to get the best of you and you'll try something new.
everyone pooling their money together, then that limits their ability to scale back.
Definitely going to keep any key on this, though. (3/3)
However, I do think their price points are a little high for what the market will bear. It's tricky though. I don't know the financials of the deal, but if is was a case of... (2/3)
I'm always happy when creators regain creative freedom either by diversifying away from a single mega platform or outright buying their freedom back, so I'm pulling for them. (1/3)
