There's a left/center/right joke really trying to happen here, but I can't quite get it to work.
@badpacifist
Writing/rhetoric prof in PA. Write about higher ed organizing. Teach about demagoguery. Spurs/Union/Phillies/UGA fan. Read sci-fi, police procedurals, and horror fiction. No DMs with strangers. My employer says I have to tell you I don't represent them.
There's a left/center/right joke really trying to happen here, but I can't quite get it to work.
Does that mean McFascist will someday win Comeback Imperialist War Monger of the Year too?
About to sit for an interview with some of @afamiglietti.bsky.social's students who want to talk about why teaching isn't as valued as research in higher ed. Given how much time I spend preaching about this, I'll be interested in seeing if all that rehearsal has paid off! :)
Working on a chapter concerning reciprocity and undergraduate βglobal citizenshipβ and this asshat plays a role as my favorite villain in the enterprise. What a ghoul.
The only thing I'd rather hear less than McFascist masturbating at the podium is Pete Hegseth doing same.
That's why I won't debate the efficacy of any attack on Iran right now. The *only* argument that makes any difference in my head is that this is an uprovoked attack on another country; it's a war crime. And every dead person is a murder victim. And Donald Trump owns every one of them.

This time the lies are all happening after the fact, and McFascist can't even keep them all straight from one sentence to the next because his brain is so broken. It's why "flood the zone" works--it's almost impossible to respond rationally to such utter nonsense.

But within hours there were nearly a million of us in Times Square, on that Saturday well over a million marched just in NYC, plus millions more. The difference, obvs, is that we'd had *months* of marching, protesting, planning based on GWB's relentless lying about the reasons to attack.

Getting ready to leave tomorrow for #4C26, contrasting the national mood to March 2003. We got to NYC for the conference the day the invasion of Iraq started; the conference hotel had CNN in the elevators so we couldn't not see it.

Dear God, yes.
I get the point and agree that they're willing to use other people's kids as cannon fodder. If I thought he cared for a second about his own kid, maybe I'd react different.
Spursy. Twice in one day.
Gave up the corner. It was clearly off him, but he flipped out and waved his fist at the ref. Easiest yellow of the day.
That's just an unforgivable mistake under these circumstances. Everything going your way, and you do that on a yellow. That you've been playing with for an hour.
Oh, dumb motherfucker. How do you do something that stupid???????/
I'm not above celebrating a make-up call. That was a pretty soft penalty.
It was. Was there another one?
It wasn't even sort of obscure. Clear contact, no effort to play the ball, well within the box.
Lukic getting kicked in the back of the leg in the box by a player who wasn't within 5 yds of the ball.
I would give that referee a thousand dollars to explain how that's not a foul except that he just didn't fucking feel like giving it. One of the clearest fouls I've ever seen.
I can't imagine for the life of me what the referee isn't seeing. IF that's not a foul, there are no rules.
From yesterday, adding:
4. Do you really want Barron Trump to have a military issued weapon? Seriously? Hint: no, you really don't.
Some if it is timing, for sure--getting caught on the ball because you're not sure where to go with it, expecting runs that come late. I'm more worried about the defending and how often NYC players are making runs nobody seems to notice. It's like nobody scouted or practiced.
You really want that guy in uniform waving a machine gun around? Are we sure about that?
It really is eerily like the game I watched this morning.
Execution is just...not good. Playing like it's still preseason, except that it isn't.
This is the second game in a row the press just hasn't worked. NYC is passing through it without even having to break a sweat, and the maybe twice it's generated some chaos, the Union haven't been able to do anything at all. Seems like maybe time for a change of tactic? This is too easy.
That's what you get when you give the ball away 30 times and watch the other team take target practice at you. Eventually they score. WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is what happens when you're not playing Defense Force.
At least 5 turnovers within 30 yds of their own goal in the first 30 minutes. That's an easy way to get destroyed.
Unfortunately the @philadelphiaunion.com look like they took defending lessons from Spurs. Hanging by a micron-thick thread here.
