Helps that most people (outside of political junkies and the informed) don’t really care about OMB let alone could tell you what it stands for or its function

Being a Secretary is like being a C-suite executive; it does not require degrees nor any type of special skills. Literally the most low ranking, least paid employee of a company could be the CEO since they have the same credentials

My point is we need standards

It would be good if (1) the Dem national leadership actually used that messaging in elections and (2) if we had a left version of John Yoo or Bill Barr who utilized a super niche, out there reading of the law to help eradicate conservative jurisprudence policy

feels like a minute since i have pointed out that donald trump has pardoned more child sex offenders than every other president of the united states combined

Sure, definitely. Not disagreeing there. But in the meantime, it means way worse shit for any type of immigration enforcement policy

But I mean this *should* help the Democrats in the midterms, provided the leadership actually does its job

Can anybody tell me the last time we had a Senate confirmed cabinet secretary that had zero credible experience nor even a Bachelor’s degree?

And if you thought Noem was a bad choice, wait until you see Mullin

Listen to the historians.
Read their books.

Please.

Well it seems like my skeptical hunch about him has been proven right

Having met her and given this is my district, I cannot endorse her enough

She is not only highly intelligent and policy oriented, but genuine, dedicated, and passionate about helping her community

If you’re in the new District 21, please get out and vote for her. She will do incredible things

I realize I don’t get on here much anymore (been way too busy), but I really want to let you all know about Dr. Regina Vanburg, running for Texas’ 21st Congressional District

She is a progressive Democrat who values the people of her district and wants them to have real representation

Don’t ever fall for Republicans’ lies about them respecting law and order or wanting peace. They very clearly do not and never have; what they want is to kill everyone who has even the slightest disagreement with them

Journalism is dead. Or at least, journalism as long as it is staffed, funded, and led by persons with elite credentials, Ivy League educations, and have family ties to decades long wealthy families should be considered dead

The gratitude I have for the people working to bring us translations of books that have been out in other countries for decades cannot be understated. This timeline sucks but it has given us some amazing pieces of literature in English for the first time in many cases and that makes me happy.

Local advocacy is more important than ever. It's overwhelming to think about how to fix [motions to everything] but I can make it safer for seniors to cross the street, for kids to bike to school, for people to have places to meet in public space... all of which build and strengthen our democracy.

Yes, call your elected representatives in Washington, but also:

Show up to a community board meeting. Run for for school board. Organize your neighbors. There's a lot of manageable things you can do. Everything helps.

Why does David Frum, one of the propagandists of the Iraq War and a true Conservative believer, still have a platform?

04.01.2026 02:59 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

WEAK

It's an illegal war. They lied to us. They have no plan.

Skip to the part where we impeach, convict, and remove them.

All of them.

This isn’t reformable

I’ve never even been in the service but this is incredibly dumb

Like it should be clear how idiotic such a suggestion this is

It’s disappointing that this is now the kind of opinion that is seen as controversial when it’s a bold truth

It’s disappointing to see democracy come this far and just … fail

And that’s who the American people voted for

Remember when Trump went before all those economists and financial titans to talk about his fiscal plan … and completely bombed?

He had zero concept of any financial strategy, could provide next to nothing in terms of specifics, and just hand waved his way through it

What Senator Cotton says here would be a bad defense for the Germans convicted in WWI and WWII war crimes trials -- including for firing on shipwrecked in fully operational lifeboats.

This line of response hurts the US and US servicemembers. It will cause long-term damage unless we get this right.

She’s right

True activism means taking a stand, putting one’s life & livelihood on the line. It doesn’t mean solely posting online and it certainly doesn’t mean saying a president should step down, then speaking out relatively little while living abroad with huge sums of wealth on hand πŸ‘€

Also, what is even the point of having Slytherin realistically? I get narratively, but in what universe would a school openly have/endorse/assist a club which (as part of its’ explicit purpose) is to house literally evil children (or byproducts of evil people)?

Make it make sense

06.12.2025 08:30 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Somebody explain to me how the end of Harry Potter: The Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone - with Gryffindor winning over Slytherin - is at all just? Like in the book did Slytherin cheat for their points or was Dumbledore just like β€œokay Griffy’s gotta take it” and manipulate shit?

06.12.2025 08:30 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I truthfully believe they’re just that gullible. They are legitimately that undiscerning when it comes to information and so vehemently opposed to their own intelligence agency assessments they will openly say β€œyeah this guy is great” then point to him singing Blueberry Hill as evidence of that

Where did he even buy this? Cause I have never ever seen this in any store anywhere

26.11.2025 04:42 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I am fully convinced the Republican Party just wants to destroy America; they, for some goddamn reason, truly hate this country, its people, and everything about it and are intent on destroying every aspect of what made/makes it great
