Wait - the corner of Olympic and Cloverfield, Santa Monica? Ladies and Gentlemen, that is almost exactly the location where the old Buffy offices stood. I believe we may owe thanks for this one to the Hellmouth.

This exploration of acting and typing is now up on Medium and Substack. The #podcast features an Emily Rainbow Davis original, newly recorded. emilyrainbowdavis.medium.com/my-type-395d...
Almost 20 minutes of all #clown content! All clowns all the time! A farewell to Philippe Gaulier and a cover of Elvis Costello's "Clown Strike" podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a...
My little brother was dedicated to fungi and every year for his birthday, I try to honor his memory by reading more about mushrooms. Thank you for releasing this within a day of his birth!
I try to have compassion for those that got us into this political mess but I find it very challenging. Thinking about them this way somehow helps.
The blend of high and low art here is absolutely championship level. We start with a French dramatist in the mid 19th century, believe it or not, and journey through mud to some other literary icons.
Criminally funny, but also I'm crying inside

I did not realize that I might be being perceived as a technophobe (and I don't care, think what you want!) but I have often been surprised that others are surprised that writing for me is always a pen and paper proposition. #GenX
10 hour study with me at Columbia showing lunch

DHS illegally arrested me please help Text against image of her knees
Columbia student detained today is a day-in-the-life influencer with 100K followers. Her stories right now go from her studying for a Genetics exam in a nicely edited "ten hour study with me at Columbia" video, to a photo of her knees with the caption "dhs illegally arrested me please help"
When I found myself stalling, I realized I needed to find a method for preparing to edit, just like I have one for writing. Uncovering our creative processes is a lifelong practice. #CreativeProcess
And now, the #podcast version of this blog about how we deal with these folks. It features a cover of "Should I Stay or Should I Go" podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/d...
The good news about this post from November is that heβs mostly surprised me and done a lot of great things. The bad news is that he has gone back on his promises to fund the library system and stop the homeless sweeps. emilyrainbowdavis.medium.com/my-local-rac...
This is a huge deal, and the number of people I see pooh-poohing this as just a loss to a supposedly elite group sucks. A) most of the jobs that disappeared were the working-class ones; B) bye bye not just to local coverage but to arts, sports, everything thatβs not tech/biz/politics/opinion/advice
Same. Uncontrollable sobbing while the staff is sweeping up popcorn around me.

The future:
"Could anyone have guessed that the celebrated titans of social science and psychology Epstein sought out would just happen to think that #MeToo went too far or that women arenβt temperamentally suited to careers in STEM?
On second thought, donβt answer that."
Believe it or not, clowns really care about lineage. And this guy sits at the top of the heap. I never studied with him but I did learn a lot from his teaching!
It sure seems like when we have our basic needs met, and don't have to hustle to survive, humans will almost always choose to create art.
And there is a lot of evidence that when a society decides to honor and promote art and artists, everyone who lives there is measurably happier.
My driver's ed teacher spent a class yelling at us about a football game and assigning us positions in the game up on the white board. We were very confused. After the break, a guy came in to tell us that he'd been taken to the hospital. Then, that guy taught the rest of the class.
Like, USAID still legally exists, still receives budget from Congress, and the few dozen remaining employees (who work at State) still have usaid.gov emails and all our systems and databases still exist.
It's just the 10k of us who actually did the work are gone. Just do that to ICE and CBP.
Attention @sticknation.bsky.social !
Jesse Jackson reading "Green Eggs and Ham" is so wonderful. RIP
Actual current events, my friends! That's what we have here! And one of the most popular blog posts in a while. This #podcast episode features a cover of "Richard Cory" podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...
Bullying my art to give me things doesn't work. This one is now up on Medium. The #podcast features a cover of "Drive My Car" emilyrainbowdavis.medium.com/my-art-wont-...
I just assumed there was a reboot I'd missed and that's what this thread was about.
Cartoon: If anyone in Chicago knows this school or an anti ICE organization affiliated with them I would be happy to donate this art. I only wish I could have fully Sal Buscema-ed that punch :)
Sure - the exhibit was a few months ago but I got this post up on Substack and Medium now. And the #podcast version features a cover of "Sidewalks of New York" emilyrainbowdavis.medium.com/a-blurry-lin...
βWe have artists who are dealing with their families disappearing.β I spoke to theatre artists in Minneapolis, who tell me about having to cancel shows, doing events underground to avoid ICE, and performing at protests. Inspiring stuff here
Listening to a podcast about fundraising for podcasts and then writing a blog that became a podcast about a podcast about fundraising is how I do things, I guess. The #podcast version features a cover of "East Asheville Hardware" emilyrainbowdavis.medium.com/money-and-th...
