I don't understand how we have to beg people to get vaccinated while other people are fine shooting themselves up with untested compounds for unproven "gains" risking god knows what
That's why I said focused on, not exclusive to, written records. Historians draw on different kinds of evidence in constructing their accounts. But written records, broadly construed, are central. If you're not dealing with written records at all, you're probably doing anthropology or archeology.
ICE has arrested and detained a Nashville journalist who reported stories critical of ICE. Sheβs married to a U.S. citizen and has been seeking asylum here after fleeing death threats in Colombia because of her journalism there.
Theyβve already sent her to Louisiana.

Some anthropologists are bullshitters, but so what? Doesn't mean the physical anthropologists solving crimes, or the linguistic anthropologists saving dying languages are full of shit.
RFK Jr.: "Linda McMahon is a very close friend - My niece Zoe Hines recently signed a contract with WWE to become a wrestler, and I'm really looking forward to knowing so many good doctors who can treat her after."
Anthropology isn't a fake discipline at all. It's as valid as history or archeology and because it's so broad, it can overlap with both. As well as biological sciences and forensic medicine.
History is focused on the study of written records, and is backward looking. Anthropology deals with a much broader array of evidence about cultures past and present. It encompasses everything from skeletal biology to textiles and languages, past and present. It's not fake.
Calling states "red" and "blue" based on presidential results not only ignores the partisanship of other statewide votes but also ignores how lousy those descriptors are at the presidential level.

Graham Platner's wife is Jewish and Donald Trump's wife is an immigrant. But the question isn't whether he's a zeig-heiling neo-Nazi, it's whether he's a liar with a long history of gross politics that he papered over to reinvent himself as a leftist.

A president attacking another country based on a "feeling" is unacceptable. It's like Alex Jones saying God called on him to expose the deep state while he was eating a chicken fried steak. Except people are dying because of it.

This is such a dogshit thing to say but notice how much of a coward he is to immediately go oh gosh oh golly when the reporter asks what he means by that. Canβt even have the courage of his dirtbag convictions, an insult to all men who wear shorts and hoodies in the winter. We reject him.

Here's what worries me. The U.S. is less oil-dependent than our peers, and so Wall Street has responded far less to the war in Iran than financial markets abroad. When the country calling the shots feels only a small share of the pain, that's a dangerous asymmetry.

WHOA. Camp East Montana in El Paso opened in August and quickly became the deadliest ICE facility, with infamously terrible conditions.
Now ICE is closing it, just as they plan to open up a detention camp nearly three times larger in a converted warehouse just outside El Paso.
