This is the second time I've seen an issue with the publisher of Hedone books not paying authors. The first time it wasn't under the name Hedone.
And to see that was an all BIPOC antho?
I'm upset on behalf of these writers.
As the other Otherside poetry editor, I can't stress this enough. "Please fuck us up. Please make it gayer and more trans and stranger and more unabashedly you than you think would usually be accepted. WE want that kind of shit. We want the othered queer pieces that take forever to find a home 💜

I don't like giving advice but I would have liked to hear this when I started submitting work.
Writers, you should never pay to submit to a magazine. Its insulting, devalues your work and reinforces the starving artist rhetoric.
You deserve to be paid for your art.
