Shovel smart! Shoveling heavy, wet snow can cause back injuries and heart attacks. Don’t push yourself! Dress warmly, making sure to cover your head, fingers and toes. Stay hydrated, but avoid heavy meals right before or after shoveling. Move only small amounts of snow with each pass of the shovel. Take frequent breaks. Stop shoveling entirely if you feel exhausted!

I’m truly honored for an award from my @ametsoc.org weather & climate peers. Even more special, I got to share the stage w/ incoming president Alan Seamls, a fellow @cornelluniversity.bsky.social alum & veteran broadcast meteorologist who has been a mentor & role model to me since I was a student.
The road to get here was bumpy & hilly at times, but this award validates the sacrifices are worth it, our science & its stories matter, & community voices bring the impact we need in a warming climate.
I’m filled with so much gratitude it’s hard to even put it into words 🥲 2025 marked a decade in TV for me. A decade living in 4 different states, countless hours on-air covering extreme weather, & countless stories & field reports to make the climate crisis more relatable. #AMS2026
