In my household, we have decided to spend on ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that isn't completely necessary for the foreseeable future.
That is what we need
An economic boycott
Budget more to buy local and from employee-owned companies. Grow food if you are able. Stop buying things you don't need. Cancel your subscriptions. Permanently.
Make an effort to change your lifestyle, NOT just for one day.
We are where we are because of unhealthy habits that include waste, greed, materialism, overconsumption, and addiction to shopping carts both online and IRL.
It's great to acknowledge mobilization efforts like boycotting, but the underlying issues must be addressed long-term.
Markets will rightly see this as a blip not worth addressing.

We have been afforded a most amazing sensory apparatus and the inner imagination with which to comprehend and appreciate the Cosmos around us.
And a ticking clock that makes our time here finite. Maybe 75-100 turns around that Sun. 4000 weeks on average.
We are biological lifeforms arisen out of the geological materials of this planet, which is mostly rock, that goes around and around our sun, which in turn drags a whole system with it around a galaxy that is just floating in space with no real goal.

In 3 days, the number of measles cases in a highly unvaccinated area of Texas has doubled. There are now 48 cases, all of whom are unvaccinated, and 13 of whom have been hospitalized so far, for a hospitalization rate of 27%. This is huge figure in epidemiology. This outbreak will keep spreading.
