Writer David Goyer (Foundation, The Dark Knight trilogy, Blade) has created Emergence, a world meant to be the first franchise on a new platform called Incention, which connects fans to expand and create intellectual property. It basically allows studios and rights holders to open their IP to fans and other creators while leveraging AI to streamline licensing, revenue sharing and community engagement. The platform is built on the blockchain so ideas can be tracked and creators compensated. Organizers are ambitious, hoping to introduce a new blueprint for building modern franchises through “collaborative creation” that can help avoid costly misfires on the big and small screens with early input from a passionate base. AI will help users sort through the content.

This is a must read by @duncanrobinson.bsky.social which rings an alarm bell long overdue. Both main parties being at 26% is not normal. Every interaction I have with voters (left, right, centre) confirms their anger with the status quo. Yet as he says “Strangely, few in Westminster seem concerned”

This is sort of fascinating because if you were to turn on pretty much any talk radio station or pick up any tabloid, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was the inverse.

Bit of a shock

I am now going through my timeline and clicking 'show less like this'. The endless cats, rabbits and crows are annoying. But come on BlueSky, it's 'show fewer like this'.

Might it be that if you use AI to write headlines, you end up with someone being irked at being beaten with a hammer?

I have cats like this and they can be cuddly or infuriating but how do I stop the endless flood of feline messages? And don't start me on relentless so-called sports posts on BlueSky. You know, the ones where only US teams win the World Series or someone needed oxygen after a 60-yard sprint.
