Keeping multiple intelligences in mind is also helpful for staying humble no matter how talented (and praised for it) in one arena you might be.

We're all just small human beings in a giant universe with a very limited (although it means the world to us) place in the grand scheme of things.

We do this with artists and celebrities too. We assume because they're brilliant actors, rappers, singers, or whatever that they must be authoritative voices on all things, but they are not.

Multiple intelligences. There are many ways to be smart, and no individual is equally smart in all areas.

I make the distinction b/c the norm is to assume rich people are holistically smart.

The opposite is to assume rich people are dumb & just riding off privilege alone.

In reality, rich people are usually smart about the things that made them rich. Bets are off about any other type of intelligence.

I think this is where the psychology of multiple intelligences comes into play.

You can be super smart at business, professional development, finance, and workplace management and low in emotional, moral, historical or political intelligence.

At the Thiel level, its obvious that his politics are motivated by class interests not cultural politics and he's rich enough to live above the social norms he seeks to impose upon his peons to keep them in line.

But most people are not on that level.
