There’s more to it than just that, and I really don’t want to get into it.
Not really. Discovery really isn’t coherent. It is definitely a serialized long form continuous narrative, but coherent is a bit of a stretch.
Really didn’t help they were constantly changing showrunners during each season.

Discovery’s narrative is a continuous serial narrative.
Calling it coherent is another matter entirely.
No conventions, no cosplay, no fanfic as we know it. Women in Star Trek created fandom as we know it.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Every solitary episode of Voyager is a finely crafted, well entertaining, hour of Entertainment. Put the episodes in context of each other and the entire show falls apart.
