hate to fear monger, but Black Mirror does come to mind. Thought crime detection, crowd-sourced social credit scores, eyetracking enabling insight into what drives you, and everyone else wearing them. Well beyond adverts, but by tailoring a version of digital reality required to manufacture consent.
Question: did you put them in the charging case during TSA security check?
The least believable part about Star Trek is just how weird humans *aren't* in the future. A crew needs to encounter a bunch of humans cosplaying as another race. Like, Vulcan-aboos or wannabe Klingons with implants on their heads and shit. I would watch that.
Navigating conversations may become more of a cat and mouse game of competing entertainment value. People may be engaging with a glasses-wearer without even knowing they've lost the battle to Instagram, Whatsapp, or even a helpful AI conversation tracker to aid in live responses.
The narrative "smart glasses/AR will help us connect better in-person" doesn't feel entirely genuine. For some, it may deepen social media addiction and actually make live conversations less engaging. Social pressure can keep people off phones, but will it keep us from covertly feigning interest?
As we begin to wear smart glasses and AR glasses on the daily, it becomes even more clear to me that European startups could leverage the role of a 'neutral' choice. But, you know: funding, startup climate, access to supply chains, everything feels stacked against building world-class tech in the EU
I think Vacation Simulator could have been *significantly* better. The tutorial doesn't even make me wake up at 5AM to drive to the airport without my phone charger. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO RELAX @owlchemylabs.com ???
the ever amazing @azadux.com just randomly geoguessed my profile pic based on a scan he did a few years back of a weird little nook in the DDR Museum in Berlin
Sounds like a blast. When are you going?
he got me good too. started mentally shaping a piece and then it hit me.
Really looking forward to trying out the Pimax Crystal Super Ultra Plus @skarredghost.bsky.social

been full-time ignoring Twitter (and only part-time ignoring Bluesky), and holy hell. It's nice, yo.
Horizon Worlds is one Gorilla Tag away from being what Meta really wants, but doesn't have. That said, I am one Gorilla Tag away from financial freedom, so it's not saying much.

Your outie always leaves a positive review when they like a game.
If I have to play another game where, at the end stage, it turns out I have to go into the mind of the protagonist to fight a representation of their trauma to uncover the reason why they've been thrust into a nightmare realm, I'm going to probably play another.
so, I guess that settles it. I still lurk on Twitter, but that's going to be about it for me yo
I won't pretend to understand Japanese social mores. Asahi is releasing a Vision Pro app that provides "new value to drinking alone at home."
"While many people enjoy drinking at home, some say that 'drinking alone at home' can easily become monotonous and lacks novelty."
All this money thrown at a rebrand. Like tears in the rain.
instead of doing something for a month or two and then quietly giving up on it in private, this year I'm going to do something for an even shorter amount of time and *loudly* give up on it, like registering for a marathon or being able to articulate my haircut choices to a barber.

XR game studios be like:
We're thrilled to announce 'Game Series: The Thing - The Battle for SEO', a prequel to Popular Series, but the IP holder isn't cool with VR yet, so they want to play it safe by letting us have a crack.
Also, try to write about our live-action teaser (no release date).
Game studio PR be like:
Hi Scott,
I wanted to thank you so much for covering our game in your recent article. Just wanted to note that 'Game Series' is actually called 'Game Series: The Thing - The Battle for SEO'.
Can you fix that in the article in all instances? Thnx byyeeeee
For newcomers: my brand of XR and sporadic nonsense (patent pending)
[XR] In VR, including non-interactable items with interactable ones and simply highlighting them to differentiate the two feels bad. Make *them* useless, not me.
[NONSENSE] smartwatch praises me for getting up to pee. thanks yo
the mass exodus of XR people has really ticked up. I thank you for the follow, and promise not to suck.
blusky is where I'll be focusing today for news gathering. Tell me about your project because I don't want to read about anything else.
I haven't heard either. My guess is independent researchers don't have enough data right now to make a claim (founded, or otherwise). I'd expect some figure to come out around Holiday season though, because that's when sales data is the most reliable (?)
I'm winning you over with my unique brand of XR and sporadic NONSENSE, I can feel it. Or it's worn thin. I can't decide.
Also, is it me, or does BRICS sound like a premium currency for an online LEGO game?
Cont.
[XR] A Vision Pro follow-up over $1K only marginally solves the issue of attracting XR devs to stock the App Store with content. Unless it breaks below, it's still a 'PRO' fosho.
[NONSENSE] Mark Gurman, Mark Gurman, Mark Gurman (ah, shit. nothing happened)
