Exploitation and boundary-management of extreme content is a real problem that does need addressed but at the individual and community level, not the federal government / corporation / internet censorship level. It's a trojan horse to get marginalized people to support the creation of digital nukes.

Regulation has built in tools against child exploitation online for decades, and all it's amounted to is censorship and spying on individuals while the most high profile predators act unfettered as long as they have a high enough net worth. You don't reduce crime by handing cops tons of weapons.

It's hard to find the right messaging on this but if I could take a stab: Anyone who says we should give mass censorship tools to an oppressive fascist government, and their justification is that some kinks are problematic online, should be viewed with extreme skepticism and treated as a threat.
