Mystery: Iβm looking for feel-good mysteries that have a cozy vibe but also have some grit to them. Tightly wound mysteries with a fun hook! Also love a sense of community and interesting cast of characters who feel like real people.
Suspense/thriller: I want shocking, twisty books that are instant page-turners! Always looking for works by authors from underrepresented communities but in this genre especially. Would love to see something that also speaks to socioeconomic or other issues (but no focus on politics, please!).
In book club fiction: I also want to cry when it comes to this genre (am I ok) but also love heartwarming stories, especially those that center around unique experiences. Books about family, friendship, etc that can speak to larger themes.
In romance: Lately Iβve been wanting timeless stories that are devastating and make me cry. I also still love a good rom-com but the voice really has to stand out and I want a fresh take on the tropes!
Since itβs #MSWL just bringing this back up π Iβm an editor at Berkley/PRH acquiring in romance, book club fiction, suspense/thriller, and mystery!
