That's a temporary waiver. It's not a lift of sanctions. And more importantly, it's to help India, not Russia. Russia could still sell to India and they would buy it without US permission. So this is 100% for optics to make the US look less inhuman than it is.

BTW, sanctions and all we're discussion has no real relevance to my original point, which is what I think you missed: Allies sharing strategic military information isn't something to freak out about when it's normal and expected.
Russia's economy is stronger than it was before the sanctions.
Lifting sanctions is more about optics. Iran's economy was already crushed because we shut off their ability to access their stored value in USD. But that doesn't change the fact that their REAL currency is energy, not money.
They're complicit, just like when Democrats have power and even when they have the majority, they can't get anything good passed because of "Republican obstruction".
Democrats and Republicans work together to keep the county's trajectory downward at the behest of capital.
Iran will retaliate, but the idea they'll retaliate against US citizens is pretty far-fetched as it's never been their M.O. and they certainly wouldn't want to make the US lies about them true.
But I would expect collateral damage when they strike US military targets.
