Yes! Itβs called sortition and it has been used by actual polities!
Seems like Iβll be going go UMAD this year, after seeing +R announced as a main game like in 2023. Might also go with some family and do other things in Montreal too, depending on what works out planning wise.~
I wish videos at least came with transcripts attached so I could just read those instead. Video is an unforgivably slow way to communicate and it makes me feel insane that so many people prefer it.
In order to circumvent censorship, it's best to get an idea of what you're running into. Here's how to figure that out. ssd.eff.org/module/unde...
Why isnβt the right excited about technology?
Extreme wealth has made a handful of men incompatible with everyone else's safety and well-being. You can resolve this by either removing the wealth or removing the men. Curious to hear which avenue they seem to prefer!
Again, I cannot emphasize enough: do not go to the US even if you're privileged enough to have never been scared or worried of a border crossing in you're life. Do not go ESPECIALLY for something as optional & outrageously expensive as GDC.

Early promotional art of bowser transforming mushroom kingdom denizens into blocks. I feel like this would be at home as a wall painting in some minor religious cult's place of worship
I always thought the whole "they want you dead" thing was just hyperbole. But I guess this makes the entire raw milk, no vax, more asbestos stuff make a lot more sense.
I keep thinking about this because I feel like it should be bigger news that we have confirmation that the richest, most powerful people in the world are colluding to come up with ways to kill the majority of the world's population.

βThe internet lets young people connect outside of the controlled spheres of their parentsβ worldview β and thatβs the danger that proponents of age verification are terrified of,β EFFβs @ericabp.bsky.social told @Salon.com. www.salon.com/2026/02/11/...
Actually, if you want a fighting game with a single-player mode, might I recommend the first Fatal Fury? That's basically like a more fancy Yie Ar Kung Fu when you think about it. Pick one of three characters with unique moves, then fight a gauntlet of weirdos with messed up move sets and gimmicks.

β¦Sure., Iβm feeling spicy today. Letβs say something nuclear:
Itβs not about modes.
Itβs not about accessibility.
Itβs not about having a road map.
Your favorite game genre is probably not going to survive capitalism.

Is @hootsuite.com still a B corp, committed to social good? How do they square that with "social listening" contracts with ICE in 2026?
Glad to speak w/CBC's Gloria Macarenko about it: www.cbc.ca/listen/live-...
Vancouver, pay attention.
Hootsuite provides social media and surveillance tools to ICE. Their CEO has doubled down on the contract.
Monitoring dissent. Tracking public reaction. Managing PR for a violent agency.
This is complicity. @hootsuite.com
We're not organizing this one. But if you're in Vancouver and want to be heard by @hootsuite.com, consider showing up!
Not to be a hipster about it but @fightforthefuture.org was organizing to ban facial recognition way before it was cool and you can donate to us right here www.fightforthefuture.org/donate
Gonna put out the bat signal but if anyone is carpooling to frostyβs and has a passport or is in Canada and can make a detour to Sault Ste. Marie Ontario and add me, Iβd be grateful. I will pay for gas and expenditures but all flights that would get me there in time are canned

Copyright laws give legacy gatekeepers more control, stifling grassroots innovation and emerging creators. We need a system that enables choice and new opportunities. eff.org/deeplinks/2...
As an older tech person, it's legit heartwarming watching the TikTok generation discover why we all hate Oracle.
In Day of the Tentacle (1993), you can play the full version of its predecessor, Maniac Mansion. It is one of the earliest games to feature a complete game within another.
This reminds me of an old Dijkstra quote: "The question of whether a computer can think is no more interesting than the question of whether a submarine can swim."
