Yeah I don't know where this idea of American Military command+middle management as some thoughtful guardians for Peace came from but nothing in history remotely suggests they'd ever turn down an international conflict-
Save for if the opposing nation had nukes.
Like it's some kind of deterrent.
Military higher-ups are really only skeptical about being deployed for internal, national matters;
The moment it's against a different country they see it as a wonderful opportunity to finally use all these tools and personnel they've been sitting on, especially in a Middle Eastern nation.
Elements like those in 7 and 8 are present here but as someone with a similar opinion on those games I think it's executed better here (or at the very least mitigated with the segments that are more in line with RE4 style)

It sucks that certain IPs are tied up in this but WB is famously an albatross that's killed everyone that's purchased it so that's the bright side I'm choosing to clean to as all the talented people ultimately jump ship, hopefully hosted by folks who aren't pathologic monsters.

Most of the commentary I've been seeing is over them acquiring CNN and sure, I get why that's an issue, but as someone who's been pretty disenchanted with the mainstream news for over a decade that seems utterly banal in comparison to the idea of what the implications are for the wider arts.
