I'm in a people facing part of the company, and we haven't seen any layoffs from my part yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time until the AI we're building can take my job, or until the AI "can take on parts of my job" and I'm forced to work harder. It seems like it's the same everywhere now.

From when I was in highschool until like basically now the advice to every student was get into the tech space cause that's where the future is, and now AI is replacing those jobs first and they're pulling the rug out from a generation of workers. That sucks.

I work for a software company and like everywhere else we keep seeing layoffs as we invest more in AI. Worth noting that the layoffs are all from technical areas and we haven't let go anyone in the client facing parts of the company. So y'know the opposite of what we were told for years.
