Even aside from the personalities involved...I liked Whedon's style when he was one guy making cult-hit syndicated TV shows, I fucking hate it after it was the dominant writing style in Hollywood for like 10 years.

I love that he keeps talking about "avoiding refugees", as if that's not exactly what he will be in this scenario he's imagined.
I think you'll want to seriously reconsider this comparison you just made

It'd be so funny if he did it again

The nominal fee you pay to support libraries is your taxes. Fines are not only unethical and counter-productive, but they're too inconsistent and unreliable to be healthy for a budget
It literally doesn't matter if people bring things back a few days late every now and then.
Then come back in a month, apologetic and embarrassed, and have a bunch of charges racked up. Their experience of using the library is negative, to their mind now it's more trouble than it's worth. Both the experience of librarians and the data shows that almost everyone follows the rules.
The thing is that the majority of fines aren't people who borrow a book and keep it forever - even libraries without fines usually charge for lost/damaged books - they come from people who borrow 20 picture books for their kids, lose track of the due date because it's the last thing on their mind 1/
goodnight, and remember: library late fees suck. they simply discourage library use. you should be glad if your library abolished them, and if it hasnโt, you should tell them it should. ๐
Librarian here! I don't care about any of that shit
"Der Hobbit"?! What the hell is that???
Lionel Hutz imagines a world without lawyers
Even worse - he was a real guy, but wasn't really disabled! Frank Miller made him disabled for the story!

Anyone who can remember a time before Netflix will have a dozen or so movies they've seen 10+ times because they had it on DVD or video. They might not even be movies they particularly like.
