A digital illustration in the style of a vintage childrenβs book. It depicts two humanoid figures whose heads are a flattened organic shape with an opening in the center. Leaning forward, their faces are chained together. Their body language conveys that, while slightly surprised, are ultimately cool with this event.

Screenshot of a Google Doc showing the last paragraph of a novel and the word FIN at the bottom. The paragraph reads: and from the cracks of the poisoned wood We began to see that inevitable grey creep, the branching arms of soft rot, which held the wood and caressed it from within, and began the work of eating away its sharp edges and solid insides, and then there came the green cast on the surface of the path, the shallow wrinkles of algae, which bloomed larger and larger across the treads, which were caught in the pads of paws and the soles and scuffed away, but which grew back again regardless.
it is done.

Text of a Publishers Marketplace announcement: Fiction: Debut Erik Grove's THE LONG RED TOMORROW, a science-fiction noir that follows an investigator searching for a missing person through the lowest bars to the highest penthouses in a dust-choked martian colony on the verge of revolution, to Julie Constantine at Podium Publishing, by Joshua Bilmes at JABberwocky Literary Agency.
I have news! My debut novel is coming soon!
Photo of a fluffy caramel-coloured cat standing on a secretary desk, blocking the view of a writing tablet. Also on the desk are a journal, a pair of wire-framed glasses, a teapot, and a cup of tea.
Photo of the same cat lying beside a small pillow on a wooden desk chair. Because of how fluffy she is, she takes up all of the space on the chair.
the beast does not want me to finish this chapter
Good evening all. For this year's Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR), TFR remembers three transfeminine authors who passed away this year: Miss Major Griffin-Gracy (78), Valerie Amelia Thompson (38), and Michelle Duff (85) π€
We also remember 367+ victims of anti-trans violence and suicide π―οΈ

Photo of a tablet at a cafΓ© table, with a glass of hot chocolate to one side and a notebook with cursive handwriting to the other.
Photo of a cat on an armchair. The cat is curled up, sleepy and extremely fluffy, with a caramel and brown coat and black on the bottoms of her feet. Next to the chair is a brown accordion case, and some pieces of art are visible on the walls, including a print of many leafless trees.
Photo of a tablet on a reddish wood desk, with an empty blue ceramic mug to one side and a notebook to the other. In the desk shelves a laptop is visible, as are a roll of pencils and another notebook.
well, i've rather fallen off of my plans!tech week turned out to be tech-two-weeks, and i had to drive across several states for a family emergency, so writing has taken a backseat.
i'm not tracking weeks, but i have gotten back to writing in the last few days, finishing chapter 24 and starting 25!

week 8, day 6:
i've fallen slightly behind, but not irrecoverably. today i finished chapter 22, meaning that if i'm able to keep up a pace of 2 chapters per week i'll still get finished in time.
hit 40,000 words today! thank you to the bust of william shakespeare that sits on the top of the writing-desk at @philaathenaeum.bsky.social for encouraging me πͺΆ
Photo of a notebook propped up against a car passenger seat dashboard. The car is driving down a tree-lined highway, and the notebook has a handwritten chapter outline in cursive.
week 7, day 1 (yesterday):
was visiting in-laws for the holiday, but got some work done at lovely little bookstore. not progress on chapters, but some necessary restructuring inspired by my writing group's critique of the last 10 chapters on sunday (a reminder that i need & love my writing group)
week 6(π¨), day 6:
i was caught up in a great lassitude for a week and could not make myself write, so now i am very behind. but this morning i was up at 5 AM for some time in the woods squirrel spotting, and i had my notebook with me, and in the down moments i wrote the second half of chapter 21.
Photo of an outdoor table and chair overed in graffiti with leaf-shaped backpack on the chair and a tablet on the table, all in dappled light. In the background, a sunny park with grass and trees.
week 5, day 5:
the weather is so beautiful i had to spend the morning writing in the park, and got maybe a quarter of the way through chapter 21!
