yeah that's what was proven, but tons of Bungies higher ups followed her Twitter for years. I don't think it's a coincidence they make a game look like that and only steal certain things, I feel at least the idea of Marathons style came from her artwork
Maybe I'm out of pocket but I'm kind of shocked at the turnaround people are giving Marathon considering it's a sham reboot of a dead franchise that got caught plagiarizing an artist for their entire aesthetic to the point where the game couldn't be shown for months.
So the nature of plagiarism is that once you're caught, all your work becomes suspect because of the difficulty of proving a negative. It is not the plagiarists privilege to enjoy placing the burden of proof on others for the legitimacy of their work, it becomes their cross to bear.

I wrote a couple years ago that one of the things cutting the throat of so many new games was The Backlogalypse and turns out that was very literally true
I was gonna compare them to Highguard for not posting about it but they are, their most recent tweet has 42 likes. They're so dead.
If executives were soulless husks purely motivated by profit and made decisions purely based on metrics things would actually be better, but CEOs aren't even that. They're all complete fucking morons who lead based on vibes, and will torch the company they run before admitting their strategy was bad

every new thing i hear about Highguard makes the project even more baffling. At first it seemed like an unfortunate independent attempt to recapture Apex' success that was sabotaged by geoff, but then the game came out and functionally did not work, people got laid off real quick and now this???
