Studio: I want you to write the screenplay for the new Jurassic Park film.
Writer: Cool. What's it about?
S: The dinosaurs break free.
W: But that happens in every movie. What's it _about_?
S: I guess it's about humans repeating their same dumb mistakes.
W: Indeed.

The Ticketmaster-MLB.com-iOS ecosystem is a MΓΆbius Strip of pain. Absolutely not an improvement over paper tickets or simple print-and-scan eTickets. What a total clusterfuck β requiring folks to have a smartphone with NFC just to see a Spring Training game?!

They should leave the smoking hole in the ground as a monument to Trump's presidency. Nothing else gets his name. (Ok, maybe orange prison jumpsuits can be called "Trumpsuits" since they are bright orange and mark a person as a criminal.)

I know all the stuff about Bill Gates is true because why on Earth would anyone make that up?!!? What is there to gain from this being a fabrication?
Between this, MS Teams, and that churros commercial, this dude has a great moral debt to repay.

Fun idea: Big non-fiction books about economics, history, etc. should be interspliced with short stories set in that world. Imagine reading a tome about the financial crash of 1929 and suddenly there's a great one-act play set in Brooklyn at that time.

I hate to admit it, but Facebook has the best video controls of any social. You can play/pause, skip ahead, and adjust the volume, not just mute/unmute.
If that seems shockingly basic, trust your instincts.

I was in NJ. The snow was a 5' wall against our sliding patio doors.
3.5 days off from school, where we maybe would get 1 for a big snowfall. Rain helped melt it that week and snowplows could do their thing. Nothing like it since.

I would've loved to see a map like this before the Blizzard of '96. I remember that absolutely burying _the entire eastern seaboard_ in 3 feet of snow. Took us days to dig out.

I need some genuine Film Peopleβ’ to explain to me why I don't like Stranger Things 5, especially compared to season 1 (and maybe 2.)
Is it the constant moving cameras (on cranes/drones?), the huge CGI set pieces and constant car chases, or simply the wooden acting and melodrama?
Any takes? #film

Screenshot from Black Mirror where a person is blocked, and appears only as a grey form.
I feel like a good use of AI would be to create a #BlackMirror -style internet blocker that hides all mentions of a former employer in news, job boards, ads, etc. You'd think LinkedIn, of all places, would have that as an option β cut all ties!

That's funny you mention names because even after watching 2.5 seasons, I couldn't tell you the name of ONE character. In one ear and out the other. To me, that's the sign of bad screenwriting and content that is massively unengaging.
I'm a nerd, I remember names! But only if I give a shit.
