I often copy how other artist's done it in certain art work and i became very inconsistent with it

Art rant: I still struggle painting this over painting abs. i know it wraps around a cylinder base but i try not to overly render or make it stand out too much. I don't need tutorials on it, I just have issue making them to look natural or blended in well
