Until one year ago, NASA stated that SpaceX HLS was on schedule.

I wonder why NASA lied. Their people work at SpaceX HLS program, so they should know.

Now, when Elon (first time ever) is indicating some interest towads the Moon, I think it is possible that we see HLS flying within two years.

IMO: previously Elon is almost sabotaged the HLS work.

But as Elon is a lunatic, he might steer SpaceX towards Venus within a year. 🙃

NASA is known to fly humans on unproven test articles (like on Starliner) and even on ships without launch escape capability (the SShuttle).

SpaceX is the main company able to routinely build human safe space crafts. It is the only western operator that is flying humans.

I think he realized he can not afford it. It was a braindead idea to try to build starlink to fund the "Mars city".

It is a logical step to "conquer" the moon first and learn before going any further. +There can be more funding to get from that direction and Elon was made to understand that.
