About a Boy?
About a Boy?
Where exactly is that? I run along Marine Parade and then down to the marina via various paths every week but don't recognise that bit ..
thanks Luke - I know you usually do :)
Honestly think a significant factor in the enshittificaiton of the internet is that it's so much easier to screenshot than copy a link on smartphones - to the extent that lots of people don't even know how to do the latter
please don't screengrab Luke! Link here www.brightonandhovenews.org/2026/01/29/b...
That's definitely the current Newsquest policy isn't it?
Whatever happens, Rachel surely can't make it to the end now though?
What the actual?
Is it?! <runs to end of road>
Ooh I went there last summer - it's fab! Although just as exciting was the road outside being shut so Callum Turner and lots of futuristic dressed extras could film the new Necromancer series
And it's now going up quickly! Visible from quite a distance on Marine Parade. These pics taken yesterday
All the work was happening in a foundry in Corby www.brightonandhovenews.org/2025/10/02/m...
Well, well, well! Haven't updated this thread in a while as there wasn't much to take pictures of - but that changed in a BIG way today. Squeee!
Lift is now going in, and some cast iron elements are being reattached to the restored back wall
Just got my (private) flu jab from the local pharmacy. They've got someone booked in every 10 minutes until middle of next week. People were coming in and being turned away while I waited.
I really hope the new Hove leisure centre is also called King Alfred, because it makes writing headlines so much more fun

The capacity once it's finished isn't 100% clear, but pushing 2,000, assuming seated. Back in the 60s, there were audiences of 4,000 but don't think we'll see that again
Story of mine from yesterday which is potentially very big news for Brighton - especially its live music scene
TIL that Moulsecoomb's youth club is called the 67 Centre. That must be a nightmare for staff this past year haha

I think my neighbour just knocked on my door and accused me of stealing his recycling bin.
I reminded him it was a little bit windy yesterday. I think we're good.
I've bought a jumper dress from a charity shop and it smells like mango chutney
"The pilot said that unfortunately he smashed the propeller in the landing, but that was all.
"He then got his sandwiches out and a coffee - he said what else can I do?"
oh my
@kirkkorner Hi Tristan, can I pick your brains? I'm CVPing into Westminster Mags, they've let me in, but there's no sound or video (video was on, but then got turned off). Is this normal? Not how it's done in Sussex, and I'm nervous I'll miss the case I'm covering
It's a bit distressing, but worth watching this clip for the sterling work from the lady with the walking stick
They're very good for cutting orange rind for marmalade though ...
Lorry overturned on the M25 by the Cobham Services
Of course I wouldn't report on a court case just because of the defendant's name.

I now block spam PR at the first offence, stops the increasingly needy follow-ups
(For us, it's mainly bullshit surveys - Brighton is the sixth most unfaithful city, based on Instagram searches for dirty weekends etc etc)
Loving Blue Lights but very distracted since realising the head of undercover ops is Tyres O'Flaherty
Wasn't it a dementia charity? The big reveal was done in quite a low key way though I think
