My arm hurts like a bastard. Maybe that will be the only issue. π
Westminster Meeting House raided by Metropolitan Police again. Statement: βFor Quakers, faith and action are inseparable. Peaceful protest, prayer and nonviolent action are integral parts of many Quakers' religious life. Whilst we take the planning of criminal acts very seriously, we believe that this incident is a deliberate targeting of committed young people who want to make our country a more equitable place. This raid is part of a systematic stifling of dissent. That this is the second time in a year that the police have raided our meeting house dramatically illuminates the broader trend in the UK of cracking down on those who disagree with the government. The right to protest is fundamental to our democracy. It's a key part of how people make their voices heard between elections.β β Oliver Robertson, Head of Witness and Worship Quakers in Britain, 5 March 2026
Yesterday evening, for the second time in a year, the Met Police raided Westminster Quaker Meeting House and arrested a number of young nonviolent activists.

Itβs amazing! π©·
I love that she just knew I was a grandma. I guess thatβs a badge of honour?
Went with DIL to pick up granddaughter from daycare yesterday. I was carrying baby Lily & a little tot walked boldly up to me & said βGracieβs Nanny! Whatβs Gracieβs baby called?β π I managed not to laugh but I could have NEVER. God, I was so shy.
Michael Koziol's report first pars under the heading 'Don't dance on Kyle and Jackie O's grave - they were the best thing on radio'. Full disclosure: I was the least famous person on the radio show that Kyle and Jackio replaced 22 years ago, when we were jettisoned because of bad ratings. I'm not celebrating their show's end as they celebrated ours, but I'll never forget how commercial radio management celebrated cruelty, rewarded cynicism and fakery, treated women as lesser beings and openly & entirely despised the audience. I was mortified even listening to some of the ugly things they wanted us to do (which we refused). Calling that shit 'good radio' is just absurd.
More supine insights in these pars by the reporter, such as if you don't like Kyle and Jackieo you are a sneering inner-city- ABC-listening person who doesn't understand they were world class and 'grabbed attention' - because in 2017 NY radio host Howard Stern was jealous they scored an interview with 'troubled actor Charlie Sheen'. This guy is bringing his insight to US politics now. Good luck, everybody.
This guy has taken time out from being the senior SMH & Age reporter analysing US politics to explain why Kyle and Jackieo's radio show was really great. Hoping he's also a travel reporter & can insightfully review Handbasket Inc's new one-way cruise to Hell.

Kate Hudson is usually good, this is no exception.
Itβs shaping up well. Not sure why there were negative reviews.
OK, weirdly, I know every damn word to all these songs. 40 years on. HOW? π
How capitalism works #753.
When Trump stops his illegal attack on Iran, it won't be because:
- 'strategic objectives' have been met, or
- too many have died, or
- Iranians are finally 'free'.
It will be because the markets are tanking, and his billionaire associates are worried about their wealth.
BREAKING: Huge numbers of homes in Israel have been destroyed in the war, leaving distraught Israelis wondering whose homes they can steal next, given they've already destroyed every home in Gaza πππ
Watching Song Sung Blue & I canβt be objective because when I was a teenager everyoneβs mum had Hot August Night playing on repeat & the nostalgia is making me cry. It might be a crap movie, I donβt care.
Would love to see Francesca Albanese destroy Jillian Segal in a debate.
Apropos of nothing: When I visited the imperial citadel in Hue, Vietnam some years ago, locals were quick to point out the bullet holes in the city walls & tell us they were from the βAmerican warβ.
My kids would be Brendakayejudith. Awkward, since theyβre all boys.
CherylGwenda. Yikes.
Eh, doesnβt especially bother me, but I do feel for the kid not being taught a) safety and b) manners. My kid used to see a wombat or an echidna & his first thought was βtake a photo & send it to mumβ. π
Weβre so lucky to live where we do, but the fuckwit percentage seems extremely high. π
10 minutes later a maybe 15yo sped up past us on an e-scooter, doing maybe 40k on a fucking footpath, chasing a kangaroo & laughing with his friend. π€ We both called out to him, like mate, just stop & let the roo go. He also started an argument. WTF is wrong with people?
Went out for a walk. Some dickhead sped down the road (50k zone) doing at least 70, husband yelled at him, he reversed & started an argument. π There are toddlers, school kids on bikes & old fuckers like us, not cool. Apparently he thought he was special & rules donβt apply to him. π

Yeah, but I wear my helmet because I like my brains on the inside of my skull. Iβve seen some things. π
Ah, but UTIs in older ppl can be a sign of other, more sinister things. So I donβt think itβs a terrible thing. Just taking care of oldies like me. π¬
Yes, you can search online for a pharmacy, I believe? Probably not so easy in rural areas.
Actually, it might only be in Vic.
Community pharmacist program.
Itβs one of the medical issues you can now go straight to the pharmacy for, but only if youβre under 65. Additional risks, I guess, so a GP appointment is still required.
Imagine not having to take time off work and pay an increasingly expensive gap payment just to get a repeat of your contraceptive pills? So many of my RDOs & annual leave days were taken up with medical appointments, this would have been so helpful.
